Tehreek Labbaik Ya Rasool Allah is a religious movement and its political movement named Tehreek Labbaik Pakistan originated in Pakistan. The movement is headed by Maulana Khadim Hussain Rizvi.[1] The movement opposes any change in blasphamy law of Pakistan and also claims hanging of Mumtaz Qadri was unjustifiable. This movement has emerged as a political party and demands Sharia law be established as law of Pakistan through a gradual legal, and political process.[2] Over disqualification of Nawaz Sharif, elections were held to elect new member for National Assembly of Pakistan from Constituency NA-120, this party also participated in the election and secured third position.[3][4] This is a Sunni majority group and most of its members belong to Barelvi school of thought.[5]

Formation

Tehreek Labbaik Ya Rasool Allah was formed on 1 August 2015, in Nishtar Park, Karachi. 75 people gathered to form this party and became first members of the party.[6]

Restoration of Khatm e Nabuwat Bill

This movement arose in Pakistan to save Islamic identity of the country. The government of Pakistan uses the word "oath". This word was changed to "declaration" in "Elections Bill 2017", by govenment authorities. Country wide objections arose about this change, Minister of Law Zahid Hamid said "The statement of objects and reasons of the amended in order to avoid controversy, there is a consensus among the political parties in the National Assembly that the original text of ‘Declaration and oath by the person nominated”, included in original form-1A should be restored in toto'. [7] Tehreek Labbaik, being a pro-Muslim party, went on to protests. The protests occured in whole country including federal capital, Islamabad.[8] Khadim Hussain Rizvi declared to continue the protests until their demands were met.[9] In November 2017, Government restored the previous version of Blasphamy law and Khatm e Nabuwat.[7]
