I'm going to re-open this. There was support for the change, but [[User:Altamel|Altamel]] wanted to have some backing that Ktav released these versions into the commons. They did, and I have legal documents that attest to that, but it wasn't reported onlne. Unfortunately, in the back-and-forth, this request wasn't implemented. |

Request Edit - CC-BY English Text
This edit request has been answered. Set the |answered= or |ans= parameter to no to reactivate your request. |
Sefaria has English translation of this text, presented in parallel to the original.
We have both:
- Midrash Tanhuma-Yelammedenu, translated by Samuel A. Berman,
- and Midrash Tanhuma - Buber, translated by John T. Townsend
Both were published by Ktav, and released into the commons with a CC-BY license in exchange for Sefaria compensating the publisher.
I believe that a link to this would fall under section 2 of WP:ELYES.
I have a COI (I work for Sefaria). I have discussed it on WikiProject:Judaism and it has been adjudicated and resolved favorably atCOIN#Sefaria_requested_edits.
Links should probably be to both Midrash Tanchuma and Midrash Tanchuma - Buber

- Since Altamel has answered your requests before, I believe it would be best for them to answer this one too. jd22292 (Jalen D. Folf) (talk) 16:24, 6 August 2017 (UTC)
- LevEliezer, are there any posts on Sefaria about Ktav releasing the books? I found a similar announcement for Talk:Sefer ha-Ikkarim, and thought it would be useful to leave a note for posterity. Altamel (talk) 23:29, 16 August 2017 (UTC)
- Altamel, your question makes me realize that we don't have an announcement. We should. The best I found was a recent note saying that we put it up, but not that Ktav released it. Let me see if I can remedy that. LevEliezer (talk) 12:32, 23 August 2017 (UTC)
It is requested that an edit be made to the semi-protected article at Midrash Tanhuma. (edit · history · last · links · protection log)

"Please change X" is not acceptable and will be rejected; the request must be of the form "please change X to Y".

@Spintendo: I'm going to re-open this. There was support for the change, but Altamel wanted to have some backing that Ktav released these versions into the commons. They did, and I have legal documents that attest to that, but it wasn't reported onlne. Unfortunately, in the back-and-forth, this request wasn't implemented.
Still - the English language texts are up on Sefaria, and Wikipedia users could benefit from having them linked from this article.
Links should be to both Midrash Tanchuma and Midrash Tanchuma - Buber , as they are both quite relevant, and different from each other.
