Sheetgo, is a Spanish-Brazilian start-up founded in 2015 by Yannick Rault Van der Vaart (CEO), and Jonatan Gomes DA Silva (CMO). Later, Chad Pittman (Customer Success), and Rafael Vidal (CTO) will join the project. The company is known for the development of the first intelligent enterprise resource planning (ERP) system based on spreadsheets compatible with various online storage and processing formats, which facilitates the traceability and automatic updating of data available in the " Cloud, referring to an ubiquitous information technology tool to; store, share, retrieve, convey, and manipulate data". Currently this application, has around 400,000 users in more than 100 countries among which are companies, organizations, universities and governments.[2][3][4]

History

The concept arose after the start-up of a company for promoting social Urbanism in Brazil (2008) by Yannick Rault, where they had to manage a large number of projects using spreadsheets to store and analyze all the information, which turned out to be slow and cumbersome.

In this way, the idea of looking for a solution that would enable these functions to be automatically and easily emerged. One year later, in 2009, Rault and Gomes DA Silva (employee of the technical team of that social planning company) created the application with which to manage all the data in spreadsheets. Sheetgo, was widely validated in 2010 by several multinational companies specialized in technology, when Rault and Gomes DA Silva were invited to present it in Mountain View (California), which was very important for its development. After that, Pittman and Vidal joined the company, where they also helped develop the application.[5]

The development process of this application required great effort and dedication making Rault have to overcome major problems, especially budgetary that almost lead to close the company. This led to this venture, to focus on a single product easily scalable, to get allies investors that would share the concept and philosophy of the company.[6]

In 2015, the application was officially launched under the name Import-Sheet. A year later, in February 2016, Rault, Gomes DA Silva, Pittman and Vidal began to dedicate themselves exclusively to the project, being selected by an accelerator of Brazilian companies. That same year they were also selected by another Spanish seed accelerator, which led to the transfer of part of the work team to Spain. Finally, in 2017, Import-Sheet is renamed Sheetgo and the support of both shuttles is granted in capital, obtaining up to 600,000 euros of financing, both from these Startup accelerators and from other public and private entities.[7][8][9][10]

Features

Sheetgo, is a SaaS compatible with any web browser available for Windows and Mac. The application connects data from spreadsheets through an automatic synchronization system, facilitating the processes of supervision and audit.[11] [12][13]

Awards and Financing

  • In 2016, Sheetgo manages to present itself to a Startup accelerator in Brazil, and to another in Valencia, Spain, obtaining the support of both through convertible loans.[14][15]
  • In 2017, Sheetgo receives a financial grant from CDTI (Center for Industrial Technological Development)[16][17]
  • In 2018, being one of the most innovative proposals in the field of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), Sheetgo obtains the Emprendedores XXI Award granted by CaixaBank, ENISA, Caixa Capital RISC and BPI.[18][19][20]
