Rajugudem Village Library

Rajugudem is a small village located adjacent to medium water project called as Lanka Sagar.[1] It comes under the Mandal Parishad of Vemsoor in Telangana. Most of the people in this village are farmers, peasants, daily wage laborers.

History

The history of the village was not documented. The Village was moved from Paturu (old settlement) to new settlement now we see today. The old settlement was submerged under Lanka Sagar Dam project. Farmland of the Village was also submerged and compensation was paid. The project had been contributing to the enrichment of the village. So the new settlement was created after 1964 when the project was started.

Etymology

"Raju" means king, "gudem" means enclosure. It literally means King's enclosure.

Administration

The village is administrated by Panchayat Raj system. Due to sparse population, officials combined Rajugudem with neighbor villages: Yerraguntapadu, Kotha Chowdavaram (Tanda) to form one Panchayath, The panchayat elections for this constituency will be conducted on July 23, 2018.[2]
