Hello fellow Wikipedians,

In addition, I would ask that someone take down the photograph from this page. It is 14 years old and no longer represents what I look like. Although I am not fussed about my name, email address, etc. being readily available on the Internet, I do value my privacy in person and would prefer not to be recognizable on the street by strangers, especially aided by facial-recognition software. Wikipedia is often the first place people go to find out about someone. --[[User:Johnwcowan|John Cowan]] ([[User talk:Johnwcowan|talk]]) 17:14, 26 July 2018 (UTC)

I'm not a computer scientist; I have no degree in it (or anything else), and I don't do computer science for a living; I do programming for a living. Also, last I checked (today) I'm still a member of the Unicode Consortium, a courtesy extended to me because I've made contributions to them in the past. In addition, while I'm not a deletionist, I don't think I'm actually Wikipedia-notable. --John Cowan (talk) 13:42, 19 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Personal changes and a request

I have updated ccil.org links and removed myself from the category "American computer scientists", as I am not a computer scientist: I have no degree in the field and have never made any scientific publications.

--John Cowan (talk) 17:14, 26 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
