Re:Questions
Thank you for looking into the article.
1. He entered the Academy straight from H.S.
2. The rightful reference in regard to his first Silver Star came from this New York Times article [[1]].
3. That is the pity. I can't find anything what decoration he may have been awarded for his heroic action in the USS Cochino. Between you and I, and this is off the record, that is why I suspect that he may have been awarded his second Silver Star. However, that is my speculation, which is unverifiable.
Hey, you know what? The office of U.S. Congressman Jose Serrano got in touch with me. I think that they may name a street of Carlos Lozada and that they would like me to be persent. But, the assistent is not sure and I'm supposed to call him tomorrow. If I do I'll fill you in. Tony the Marine 03:53, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
- Me, always with the piggy-backing onto other people's comments. I couldn't find out what he was awarded 2 Silver Stars for, so I called his startled son and asked him. He said he would have to ask his family and get back to me, but at least that would be a starting point for you, all personal research aside. Once we have the information, it might be easier to hunt down published sources for it. He also asked if we'd contacted the Naval Academy and asked them and I thought that I had read that someone planned on doing that, but did that ever come to fruition? --ScreaminEagle 14:47, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
This prolific editor seems determined to upload nonsense which has been dismissed by other people for many years. I question whether Wikipedia is the right host for his stuff. Somebody may get quite a headache sorting it all out. - Kittybrewster 00:25, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
Thank you
I just wanted to thank you for looking into the articles that I've written. Your contributions to these articles have been awesome. My latest article is about B. Gen. Ruben A. Cubero. The amazing thing is that the Air Force Academy sent me his home phone number and I was able to talk to him about his early years. We have so much in common that we hit it off right away. Blocking User:Burkem
Well done moving so promptly to block this user. I have replied on my talk to your message there (see User talk:BrownHairedGirl#Concerning_User:Burkem) and extended the block to indefinite (see User_talk:Burkem#Indefinite_block).
As stated on my talk, I would be happy to assist in seeking a permanent ban on Burkem. I will also post to his talk page making some suggestions on how to undo the damage done. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 09:08, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
- Can you tell where Burkem was/is based? Ireland or USA? The other clue which might be relevant is the date when IP Address transmogrified into Burkem and thereupon stopped using the IP address. - Kittybrewster 18:41, 4 November 2006 (UTC)
Help with a delete/merge
Fox co 2d bn 23d marines.... This article has been hanging around for awhile and needs to be deleted. Any pertinent info has been migrated to the 2/23 page. No individual company deserves to have its own page. I am not sure what needs to be done to make it go away but if there is help I can give let me know.
I am also back now. Had a few weeks vacation but will be a regular again. Make as many changes as you can to the portal and anything you don't get to I will get at work tomorrow. Thanks for the patience. Cheers--Looper5920 10:15, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
Enectali Figueroa
I was wondering if you could at the article of Enectali Figueroa and fix any flaws which I may have overlooked. Thanks Tony the Marine 19:59, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
- You know those are good questions that you asked about being an astronuat candidate, so what I did was write to Figueroa and ask him. I also wanted an update because I want to know what happened after his 2003 interview. I'll let you know as soon as I receive a response. Tony the Marine 18:41, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
Happy Veterans Day
I wish you a Happy Veterans Day Tony the Marine 03:44, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
Unwarranted move
User:Wonton2ton moved Bhumibol Adulyadej to Bhumibol Adulyadej, the Great. This is an FA. I undid it and left this on his talk page (basically): "You can't just rename an article. You have to put in a move request and get it approved. Discussion and consensus needs to take place. Also, Your new name for this article does not follow wiki naming conventions, ie, leave off "the great"." Is this enough or does another action need to take place here? Bhumibol Adulyadej is the king of Thailand and I helped get it to FA. My wife is Thai. Rlevse 13:36, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
- I would put a note on the article talk page, but I fear it'd just inflame the Thai royalty fanatics and start a round of article renaming. We had a lot of trouble getting it to FA because of editors who abhor any criticism, even if neutral in tone, of the King. Let's just see where this goes, hopefully just die away. Wiki policy is to use real names for royals without titles such as the great. The English peerage naming system is really confusing--I've even seen native Brits not agree on how it should be done-;)Rlevse 15:08, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for the background info. Good points. — ERcheck (talk) 15:49, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
Unwarranted move
From: User:jog1973
- Under what authority did you remove the article on Movaya Wireless???. This is a company informational page, just like the hundreds of informational pages about companies in this community. Please do not remove this again. Before you make this hasty decision again, contact me on my talk page User_talk:jog1973.
Article on Movaya Wireless has been edited
Please suggest ways to make it conform if it does not at this time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jog1973 (talk • contribs) 06:12, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
