Shannon Muir (born July 10 1972 in San Diego, California) is an American animation writer and production coordinator. Her animation writing credits are for the Japanese series Midnight Horror School, created by Naomi Iwata, who also created the Japanese hit Gregory Horror Show. As a production coordinator, her series credits include the Say it With Noddy interstitals, Invader Zim, and Extreme Ghostbusters. Her industry break came as a production assistant for the animated series based on Jumanji.

Her first book, Gardner's Guide to Writing and Producing Animation, detailing a step-by-step walk through the animation production process from deciding on a concept to marketing and distribution, is slated for release at the end of 2006.
