Opening paragraph

It's not misleading at all when you read more of the sentence, "Norbit is an Academy Award nominated and Golden Raspberry Awards winning comedy film..." The irony of the fact that it was both an Oscar nominee and a Raspberry winner is part of what is notable about the film. It's also good writing in that it's an excellent teaser to the reader to read the rest of the article to find out about this odd juxtaposition of accolade and insult. Rasputia Latimore-Rice?

In a scene in the movie, Rasputia flat out tells Kate that her name "ain't no damn Mrs. Rice!" when Kate introduces herself at the carnival. That should be changed to just Rasputia Latimore. 65.43.96.3 (talk) 16:11, 18 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That isn't a very good source, it is very short and only gently suggest that the grotesque stereotypes in the film might be problematic. It does link to another more interesting article:

In which Kristal Brent Zook, author of "Black Woman's Lives: Stories of Power and Pain" eloquently puts the problems into a cultural and historical context (but ultimately undercuts the whole premise of getting offended on behalf of others by accepting maybe people "just needed a good laugh"). Morbidly obese

Not for the first time, someone seems to object to the phrase morbidly obese. This technical term seemed like the fairest most accurate way to describe the character, it would be inaccurate to describe this character as merely fat or overweight. Rasputia makes Big Momma look small, and although the humor is crude, there is no cause to censor or pretend it is something other than it is. -- 109.78.239.73 (talk) 20:15, 6 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The previous wording made unhelpful references to the race of the characters, which is irrelevant and that was why I initially thought the image description had been blanked and needed to be improved.
