Revision as of 09:37, 23 July 2019

Hello, my friend. Long time! :) I hope all is well on your end. Sooooo, another typhoon season cometh. We've bungeed all the cows down here to prevent last years catastrophe known as "Rain of milk" and "Mooing thunder".

About the shoes, we need a pic. Me? You? Race ya! Seriously, I'll look, but I don't remember seeing any in the shops. All the best, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 00:39, 11 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there. Long time no see indeed! There was a typhoon earlier this week that passed us by, but I'm sure we'll get plenty of direct hits later on. Unfortunately I don't think I've ever seen the shoes in Taipei either--you can apparently buy them online (with same-day shipping, sheesh), but I've never seen them in person. Do you think we might have better luck asking someone on Flickr to release a photo under CC? This one looks quite nice (there are a good many others). (Speaking of that article, most of the references aren't very good and some are plain dead links... Ah well.) wctaiwan (talk) 08:27, 11 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Can you help?

I started Feminism in Taiwan because I didn't think it right that such an article was missing. If you have a chance, it'd be great if you could help out. It's an area of considerable academic study so there are plenty of sources, but its far from my area of expertise. Cheers, Stlwart111 05:29, 8 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Stalwart111: I'm afraid it's really not something I'm familiar with either (and I tend to be better at say, looking up sources for a claim, than writing articles from scratch). Great job starting the article, though; the topic definitely deserves coverage. Sorry I couldn't have been more helpful. wctaiwan (talk) 22:50, 8 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
No problem at all! If I need to find sources I might come back to you. Cheers, Stlwart111 22:56, 8 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Martinsville Bulletin

Quoting your response to me:"Given that you're creating a new article (so there is no issue with attributing old revisions) and the existing article is just a redirect (and doesn't seem to have been deleted previously), you can simply go ahead and overwrite the redirect with your new article. However, please make sure the subject matter is sufficiently notable before creating the article. Thanks."

Wikipedia will not let me rename my sandbox page to Martinsville Bulletin because of the previous redirect, so i asked for other editors' help in the original request. Thanks. JeffConn (talk) 04:58, 1 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Example

I discovered you redesigned User:Example's user page for no reason. The old one looked fine. The new one looked dull. 49.148.72.29 (talk) 06:11, 16 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I disagree, but feel free to bring it up for discussion (perhaps at WP:VPM?) and change it back if others agree with you. wctaiwan (talk) 02:43, 18 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2018 election voter message

Hello, Wctaiwan. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
