Copyright problem: Lakshmivara Teertha
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Lakshmivara Teertha, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text or images from either web sites or printed works. This article appears to contain work copied from http://www.newindianexpress.com/states/karnataka/2018/jul/19/udupi-shiroor-mutt-pontiff-sri-lakshmivara-theertha-dies-at-54-1845539.html https://www.thehindu.com/news/national/karnataka/shiroor-mutt-seer-passes-away/article24457992.ece, and therefore to constitute a violation of Wikipedia's copyright policies. The copyrighted text has been or will soon be deleted. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators are liable to be blocked from editing.

If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under license allowed by Wikipedia, then you should do one of the following:

*Have the author release the text under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 License (CC BY-SA 3.0) by leaving a message explaining the details at Talk:Lakshmivara Teertha and send an email with confirmation of permission to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". Make sure they quote the exact page name, Lakshmivara Teertha, in their email. See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
*If you hold the copyright to the work: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 License and GNU Free Documentation License, and note that you have done so on Talk:Lakshmivara Teertha. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for instructions.
*If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted "under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License (CC-BY-SA), version 3.0", or that the work is released into the public domain, or if you have strong reason to believe it is, leave a note at Talk:Lakshmivara Teertha with a link to where we can find that note or your explanation of why you believe the content is free for reuse.
It may also be necessary for the text be modified to have an encyclopedic tone and to follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.

See Wikipedia:Declaration of consent for all enquiries for a template of the permissions letter the copyright holder is expected to send.

If you would like to begin working on a new version of the article you may do so at [ this temporary page]. Leave a note at Talk:Lakshmivara Teertha saying you have done so and an administrator will move the new article into place once the issue is resolved.

Thank you, and please feel welcome to continue contributing to Wikipedia. Happy editing!<!-- Template:Nothanks-web --> Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 19:39, 1 November 2018 (UTC)

Revision as of 18:16, 23 July 2019

Welcome!

Hello, Vikram kkl, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Abharan Jewellers, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may not be retained.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type help me on this page, followed by your question, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Questions or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! GSS (talk|c|em) 11:19, 2 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Abharan Jewellers requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Orphaned non-free image File:Abharan Logo.gif

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Abharan Logo.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:03, 5 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

As per the Indian Government, "In terms of Article 18 (1) of the Constitution, the award cannot be used as a prefix or suffix to the recipient's name." So can you please self-revert the "Bharat Ratna tag" you added to the awardees' infoboxes? Abecedare (talk) 16:28, 22 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Given that you didn't respond to my above request, I have gone ahead and removed the suffix you added to the numerous article (despite specific warnings not to do so in some cases). Please be more careful in the future since such ill-considered mass-edits are disruptive. Abecedare (talk) 19:50, 23 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Ok i will make sure it will not happen in future and will revert the edits. Thanks

Speedy deletion nomination of Vilas Nayak

Hello Vikramkkl,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Vilas Nayak for deletion, because it seems to be copied from another source, probably infringing copyright.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to rewrite it in your own words, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Template:Z166

Vexations (talk) 12:39, 1 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

You wrote here "It’s a information retrieved from official website with the permission of the person". Even if true (and we have no way of knowing that it is), that's not a reason to keep the content. If the copyright owner wants to release the content he should follow the instructions at WP:DCM. What is your connection to him? Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 18:52, 1 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

He is my friend, Ok I will check with him and ask to release the content because we need that article. Vik 18:59, 1 November 2018 (UTC)

ArbCom 2018 election voter message

Hello, Vikramkkl. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
