GMAC-RFC (Residential Funding Corporation) is the mortgage side of the GMAC business, in essence providing funding for residential real estate. Founded in 1982 in the US. It's Corporate headquarters are in Minneapolis, Minnesota respectively. The firm has 5000 employees worldwide, working in the GMAC-RFC part of the company.

The majority of GMAC-RFC business is through brokers, as the firm has little presence on the high street like its competitors. GMAC-RFC secured £6.34 billion in revenue from its mortgage business in the UK in 2004, and its expected that at the end of the US financial year (2005) in December 2006 that the firm will have doubled that
