MediaKind

MediaKind (formerly known as Ericsson Media Solutions) is a multinational media technology company headquartered in Frisco, TX, (US). It was established in the year 2018. Earlier it was a part of Ericsson (Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson), a Swedish multinational company. Ericsson divested its Media Solutions Business to private equity firm - One Equity Partners to form MediaKind ^[1]

History

On January 31, 2018, Ericsson announced the sale of 51% in its Media Solutions business to One Equity Partners - a private equity firm. One Equity Partners was spun out of JP Morgan Bank and has investments in industrial, healthcare, and technology sectors in North America and Europe ^[2]. As previously stated, One Equity Partners became the majority owner, while Ericsson retained 49% ownership after the transaction on January 31, 2019^[3]. Ericsson had purchased the former Tandberg Television and Microsoft Mediaroom operating system that had been developed and rebranded as MediaFirst ^[4].
