Private Higher Educational Establishment "Kyiv Medical University" is a Ukrainian institution of higher medical education that combines the state standard of physician training within official medicine with mastering the most effective methods of complementary medicine. Kyiv Medical University founded in 1992 and it is the first private medical university in the post-Soviet countries. The current field of its competence is to provide medical, dental and pharmaceutical education in various forms (full-time, by correspondence or part-time, online, distant), to arrange scientific and educational events and publications. KMU implements the latest findings of evidence-based medicine at all stages of study - undergraduate and postgraduate - using all available tools and resources. The concept of continuous professional development is maintained at the postgraduate level, which includes internship, clinical residency, postgraduate and doctoral education, advanced training, thematic improvement, trainings, master classes, round tables, seminars, conferences, symposia in Ukraine and abroad.

About University

• The University offers all levels of education: from preparatory to doctoral studies.Not to mention, very well-developed internship that covers 22 specialties.

• The University prepares in the following areas: "Medicine", "Dentistry" and "Pharmacy" (field of knowledge 22 "Health care").

• It is ranked first in TOP-10 best private universities in 2019.

• KMU is ranked 8th amongst 200 universities according to average passing score level.

• KMU is ranked 11th amongst 126 private universities according to the number of admitted students on the contract base (rankings in 2019).

• In 2019 the number of students has increased to over 3500 people.

• The atmosphere in the University is unique and diverse as students represent 62 countries.

• In 2017 KMU opened its branch “Kharkiv Institute of Mediсine and Biomedical Sciences”.

• In 2019 KMU opened its branch “Dnipro Institute of Medicine and Public Health”.

• The number of the graduates is over 5000.

• KMU provides education in the field of medicine, dentistry and pharmacy as well as a preparatory course for foreign students. Postgraduate education is provided for 22 specialties in internship (residency), 14 specialties in PhD, 60 specialties in clinical residency and doctorate program is available in any healthcare specialty.

• The University is focused on preparing specialists in deficit fields such as pediatrics, general practice, family medicine according to international standards.

• International and Ukrainian students are greatly integrated in the cultural and sports life of the University and are taking leading positions and various contests.

• KMU gives University Scholarships to talented students and interns. Overall, 30 grants have been issued since 2013.

• The University supports the talented youth – straight “A” students are provided with a 50% cut-rate deal.

• The training takes place in 22 departments, 13 of which are clinical, located in the best communal and private hospitals in Kyiv.

• Students take part in Vacational Medical Training in a clinical facility in Knuriv (Poland). They also have opportunity to take part in a similar training in one of the best clinics of Germany - Ernst von Bergmann Klinikum (Potsdam, Germany).

• There are over 400 professors, associate professors, assistant professors, lecturers and tutors at the University. 1 out of 3 KMU lecturers is a holder of PhD.

•The University has launched an “opened rectorate” project which gives students the opportunity to communicate directly with the KMU rector.

• KMU has been an official testing center of TOEFL iBT & SAT exams since 2004.

• KMU regularly organizes open seminars with well-known foreign speakers and members of National Academy of Medical Sciences.

• KMU is a coordinator of the 3-year project of vaccination, prevention of disease in the group of social risks. KMU provides special training supported by UNICEF and WHO for doctors in Kyiv and other regions of Ukraine.

• KMU is a partaker of an American project supported by the Center of Socially Dangerous Diseases. KMU is in the Alliance of Ukraine “Technical Assistance in the Field of M&E and Effective Use of Data” (METIDA) for the staff of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

Campuses

The educational and training bases of the University's departments are located on their personal and rented spaces of medical institutions and schools. Dental students study in their own building located at A. Tsedika St, 7. The hostel is located at Gorlovskaya Street, 124. The administrative campus is located at Boryspilska Street, 2.

The has established its own library with over 56,000 copies of educational, scientific and folk medicine literature.

Foreign and international students reside in the hostel of the University, which is located next to the main campus. The hostel has a computer class with an Internet network for self-study students, 2 reading rooms for 80 and 120 seats, and a cafe.
