Mig-27 in IAF
Hey, I saw your edits at No. 29 Squadron IAF. Do you know the status of No. 10 Squadron IAF? —Sarvatra (talk, contribs) 01:58, 29 December 2019 (UTC)
No, i could not find any reference for no. 10 squadron...but their are few references stating that no 10 squadron is a MiG 27 squadron based at jodhpur...although some of them are not WP:RS 1)https://military.wikia.org/wiki/No._10_Squadron_IAF 2)https://idsa.in/issuebrief/the-indian-air-force-declining-squadron-strength_sbmaharaj_031117 3)https://m-economictimes-com.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/m.economictimes.com/news/defence/three-mig-21-mig-27-squadrons-to-be-phased-out-by-iaf-this-year/amp_articleshow/47849954.cms?amp_js_v=a2&_gsa=1&usqp=mq331AQCKAE%3D#aoh=15775939100171&referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&_tf=From%20%251%24s&share=https%3A%2F%2Fm.economictimes.com%2Fnews%2Fdefence%2Fthree-mig-21-mig-27-squadrons-to-be-phased-out-by-iaf-this-year%2Farticleshow%2F47849954.cms It is very likely that this squadron must have been retired in 2018 or in early 2019....as their are mentions of 2 squadrons of MiG 27 based at Jodhpur till 2017 in second reference..and as mentioned in the 3rd reference of economic times the squadron might have been retired in 2018 as in 2017 there were only 2 squadrons present in 2017...also the new refernces of TOI,Economic Times state that no 29 squadron was the last squadron of MiG 27 of IAF. Thats all i could say for now. Mayank Prasoon (talk) 04:43, 29 December 2019 (UTC)
- Right. I did find one mention of 10 squadron in deccan herald's report, that 10 sqn and 29 sqn were upgraded while the older mig-27's were phased out by 2017. Thanks for those links. —Sarvatra (talk, contribs) 07:01, 29 December 2019 (UTC)
