Unnecessary hatnote. Soumya-8974 talk contribs subpages 18:04, 1 September 2020 (UTC)
- Keep: The template is actually a good template to keep. If you scroll down to Wikipedia:Naming conventions (technical restrictions), you find out, for example, that slashes cannot go immediately before a punctuation mark. For example, due to technical restrictions, "/." does not redirect to Slashdot, which is commonly referred to as "/.", so a hatnote is placed at the top of the page to guide new users. Sysages (talk | contribs) 18:08, 1 September 2020 (UTC)
- Delete This hatnote contains no useful information, because you cannot, by definition, read it until you have already found the article you are looking for. * Pppery * it has begun... 18:23, 1 September 2020 (UTC)
- speedy delete as per g5 Praxidicae (talk) 18:33, 1 September 2020 (UTC)
- Template:Timeline row (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)
- Template:Note row (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)
Template doc says it should be replaced with {{Simple Horizontal timeline}} and has only 5 transclusions left. Replace the last and delete it. Gonnym (talk) 13:22, 1 September 2020 (UTC)

- Template:R2 (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)
Not a high-quality, widely used template. Sysages (talk | contribs) 02:16, 1 September 2020 (UTC)
- Redirect to Template:Db-r2 after replacing all uses. * Pppery * it has begun... 16:25, 1 September 2020 (UTC)
- Delete - The problem with that family of templates is they use the html tag abbr which is both against our MoS and also semantically wrong and not following HTML specifications. See also {{abbr}} and Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2018 May 9#Template:Tooltip. --Gonnym (talk) 16:42, 1 September 2020 (UTC)
- Template:Fermi paradox (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)
Misguided. A template may work, but not like this. Requires discussion at Talk:Fermi paradox. jps (talk) 00:43, 1 September 2020 (UTC)
- Delete. Even in theory, it's redundant to Template:Extraterrestrial life, where all articles related to the Fermi paradox would be and are listed. I think some adjustments at that template may be in order, but that does not concern us here. As it is now, this template is also highly problematic because many of the articles listed have no plausible relation to the Fermi paradox, it contains major formatting and spelling errors despite its use in an article, and it attempts to inappropriately contain external links. Crossroads -talk- 02:12, 1 September 2020 (UTC)
- Delete It's not so much a template about the Fermi paradox as it is a box full of stuff that people who are into space and science and all might find, you know, cool. Cloning and Head transplants have nothing to do with the Wow! signal. Cut away all the things that don't belong (including the inappropriate external link), and there's not enough left to warrant a template at all. XOR'easter (talk) 02:38, 1 September 2020 (UTC)
- Addendum Recycling a "see also" section that doesn't appear to have been curated with any care doesn't strike me as a way to make a useful navigation box; it's just propagating the miscellany. What I said before about
not enough left to warrant a template at all
, and Crossroads' point thatEven in theory, it's redundant
still apply. Accordingly, my !vote remains "delete". XOR'easter (talk) 19:07, 1 September 2020 (UTC)

- Delete (edit conflict) - Far-fetched relationship between items, I also liked this posted at WP:FTN: "What do cloning and head transplants have to do with the Wow! signal?" by XOR'easter. —PaleoNeonate – 02:41, 1 September 2020 (UTC)
I have moved this to user space. Moscowdreams (talk) 15:59, 1 September 2020 (UTC)
- KEEP
I removed the extra sections, the template now looks like this:
Which includes only the information from the "see also" section of the Fermi paradox page:
- == See also ==
- Aestivation hypothesis – Hypothesized solution to the Fermi paradox
- Anthropic principle – Hypothesis about sapient life and the universe
- Astrobiology – Science concerned with life in the universe
- Fermi problem – Estimation problem in physics or engineering education
- Interstellar travel – Hypothetical travel between stars or planetary systems
- Olbers' paradox – Argument in astrophysics against the theory of an unchanging universe
- Panspermia – Hypothesis on the interstellar spreading of primordial life
- Rare Earth hypothesis – Hypothesis that complex extraterrestrial life is improbable and extremely rare
- Time travel § Absence of time travelers from the future – Hypothetical travel into the past or future
- Wow! signal – 1977 narrowband radio signal from SETI

- Template:Import (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)
- Template:Expand language (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)
Propose merging Template:Import with Template:Expand language.
Same template - both tell the reader that the article may be expanded with text from an article in another language. Gonnym (talk) 00:07, 1 September 2020 (UTC)
- Comment My vague recollection is that this was a start at merging the various "expand" templates into a single template, but i abandoned it after reaching the limits of my technical abilities. It might be better if they were all merged into a single template, but someone other than me would need to finish the job! Calliopejen1 (talk) 00:22, 1 September 2020 (UTC)
- I completely agree that those should be merged as well. --Gonnym (talk) 07:13, 1 September 2020 (UTC)
- Speedy Merge - they do seem to me like they are the same template. Quahog (talk • contribs) 11:34, 1 September 2020 (UTC)
