ABSTRACT |
The Fermat?s little theorem is proved for a particular case (x = 2) using the |
fixed points of a 1D-map of the Nonlinear Science. |
We want to prove: |
p prime, p / (2^p-2) |
Let the ?tent? map: |
Xn+1 = 1 ? 2 /Xn/ n = 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, ... /a/=ABS a |
Xn in the interval [-1,1]. |
The fixed points are -1 and 1/3. |
For the p-iterated map, with p prime, there are 2^p fixed points which are |
solution of: |
X = 1 +- 2 +- 4 +- ... +- 2^pX where +- is + or - |
But two of these fixed points are ?1 and 1/3. The others are not fixed |
points of the m-iterated map, 1< m < p, and mk = p, because p is prime. |
So, we have (2^p ? 2) fixed points, for disjoin orbits of period p. |
Then (2^p ? 2)/p is a natural number, (the number of orbits of period p) |
So: |
p /(2^p ? 2) |
QED |
Take this into account: numerical calculations must fail for great p due to |
round-off of the calculator machine or the computer. |

The Fermat?s little theorem for x = 2, obtained by another way

ABSTRACT
The Fermat?s little theorem is proved for a particular case (x = 2) using the fixed points of a 1D-map of the Nonlinear Science.
We want to prove:
p prime, p / (2^p-2)
Let the ?tent? map:
Xn+1 = 1 ? 2 /Xn/ n = 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, ... /a/=ABS a
Xn in the interval [-1,1].
The fixed points are -1 and 1/3.
For the p-iterated map, with p prime, there are 2^p fixed points which are solution of:
X = 1 +- 2 +- 4 +- ... +- 2^pX where +- is + or -
But two of these fixed points are ?1 and 1/3. The others are not fixed points of the m-iterated map, 1< m < p, and mk = p, because p is prime.
So, we have (2^p ? 2) fixed points, for disjoin orbits of period p.
Then (2^p ? 2)/p is a natural number, (the number of orbits of period p)
So:
p /(2^p ? 2)
QED
Take this into account: numerical calculations must fail for great p due to round-off of the calculator machine or the computer.
