Hi @Whiteguru Yeah, the talk page has been coming up for months in search, which is why I think there's a weird issue with that old re-direct from a decade ago, which I can't seem to get rid of. I'm thinking it's a weird technical issue causing the search to never find anything other than Cookie Dough (which is where the redirect has pointed to the last ten years).

As for why I'm interested? Well, I'm just trying to learn more about Wikipedia and how to navigate it and contribute to it, and it's been more serpentine and confusing than I expected it to be, so when I come upon something that doesn't make sense, I'm trying to understand it. I'm a noted and (I hope) respected candy historian and have published hundreds of articles on the subject, and oftentimes I find the historical accuracy of Wikipedia pages on candy history to be wanting, if not wildly inaccurate. So, if I can, I'd like to contribute to improving some of that accuracy, over time. But I want to understand the ins and outs of the system, and it's still mysterious on many levels to me, this search issue included. It took me a couple weeks just to figure out how to properly annotate an article.

I really did think the re-direct is preventing Google Search from ever seeing the article, optimization notwithstanding, but I'll keep trying and see what happens. Still lots to learn for me. Thanks for responding!

Your subscriptions with the Feedback Request Service

Hi Whiteguru! You're receiving this notification because you were previously subscribed to the Feedback Request Service for one or both of the Good Article nomination categories "Arts" and "Everyday life".

You may have noticed that the Feedback Request Service has been inoperative for a number of months, and Yapperbot is currently in the process of taking over from Legobot in performing the requests. In that process, the subscription categories have been updated to match the current categories used by the Good Articles project, and neither "Arts" nor "Everyday life" is used anymore.

What this means is:

  • If you were subscribed to "Arts", your preference has been transferred to Art and architecture as a new category, which you have automatically been opted in to. You may also be interested in Music and/or Media and drama; however, you have not automatically been opted in to these. If you wish to opt in to these, you should follow the process below.
  • If you were subscribed to "Everyday life", you have been unsubscribed entirely from that category, as the category is too vague to assign to any of the new, more specific, categories.

You are encouraged to review your FRS preferences to ensure that they match your interests; there are a number of new categories you can now opt in to additionally. To do this, you should:

  1. Go to the Feedback Request Service page.
  2. If you were previously subscribed to "Arts" and wish to unsubscribe from "Art and architecture", scroll to that subheading and remove your {{Frs user}} template.
  3. If you wish to subscribe to an additional category, you should do so by pasting {{Frs user|{{subst:currentuser}}|limit}} underneath the relevant heading, where limit is the maximum number of requests you wish to receive for that category per month.
  4. Publish the page.

Please note that any subscription preferences you had with the FRS for requests for comment have not been affected by these changes.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask on the Feedback Request Service talk page, or on Yapperbot's operator's talk page. Thank you!

New Page Reviewer granted

Hi Whiteguru. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers" user group. Please check back at WP:PERM in case your user right is time limited or probationary. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encyclopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page. In addition, please remember:

  • Be nice to new editors. They are usually not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance so that they are aware.
  • You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them – even if they are not.
  • If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it – just leave it for another reviewer.
  • Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page. Use the message feature to communicate with article creators and offer advice as much as possible.  Done

The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. Chetsford (talk) 22:39, 7 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Sri Santhana Venugopala Swamy Temple Thettu, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Aradhana. I'd like to notify you that Blunt did play in the Football League Fourth Division, which should qualify under WP:FOOTYLEAGUE. Lettlerhellocontribs 13:24, 12 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Lettler: Your reference to WP:FOOTYLEAGUE does not cite 4th level division football as eligible for notability. --Whiteguru (talk) 10:59, 14 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Whiteguru: Can you really read ? This is a quote from the lead-in at WP:FOOTYLEAGUE: ″This page is part of the WikiProject on Football and provides a list of known fully professional leagues, and also those that are known to not be fully professional. As such, this list can be used as an aid in considering the WP:NFOOTBALL guideline, which states that "Players who have played, and managers who have managed in a competitive game between two teams from fully-professional leagues, will generally be regarded as notable."″ (my underlining the important stuff in this context). And then you go to Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Fully professional leagues#Men's leagues and look for England and there you will find this list of divisions: England – Premier League, EFL Championship, EFL League One, EFL League Two. And the latter one are a predecessor of Football League Fourth Division. Best regards Migrant (talk) 21:13, 17 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Migrant: Yes, I have read this many times while doing NPP. If you don't like it, take it to RfC for a community clarification. The community needs to state that Football League Fourth Division is read as one with EFL League Two, which does not specify a Fourth Division -- Whiteguru (talk) 22:40, 17 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thank you for reviewing Cookie Dough Bites (Candy) article. I'm confused as to why it isn't showing up in Google search after review and after 90 days of its creation?

Can you help? I created the article in place of a similar article that had been simply reduced to a redirect to "Cookie Dough". Is that decade-old re-direct keeping this new Cookie Dough Bites (candy) page from being indexed? I just can't see any reason why it's not showing up in my searches and I'm confused as to the process or issue. Thank you! /MarvelJason/
