Sandister Tei is a Ghanaian Wikimedian and journalist. She is a founding member of the Wikimedia Ghana User Group and is the 2020 Wikimedian of the Year.
Education
Sandister is an alumna of the University of Ghana, where she studied geography,[1] and of Cardiff University where she undertook an MA in international journalism on a Tullow Group scholarship.[2]
Career
In 2017, she was a media journalist working in Accra.[3]
She has worked for Citi FM, Al Jazeera Media Network and Joy FM.[2]
Wikimedia activity
She is a founding member of the Wikimedia Ghana User Group.[4]
She participated in the 2019 Wikimedia Summit in Berlin.[5]
She was named the Wikimedian of the Year on October 15, 2020 by Wikipedia co-founder Jimmy Wales in a live YouTube and Facebook broadcast.[6][7][8]
