Aashid

@JohnB123 I received your notice regarding deletion of the page and have read all the notability policies of Wikipedia and have recreated the article.I asked the permission of an user named @Chetsford The subject that I have written is about an South Indian who became one of the youngest published author in India.Hopefully you would get a glance at it and change your mind.

Grover no 1 (Talk)
Hi Grover no 1. In my opinion the article doesn't meet the notability requirements. I don't see anything on Chetsford's talk page about permission, but do note he advised you to submit the article to WP:AfC when you informed him you had recreated the article. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 10:14, 1 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

John B123.What can you expect from a new user like me, Sorry it may be annoying. The subject that I have been written is spoken a bit so, I had done research and wrote about him.If you find this worthless, you could delete this, I have no objection.I will never create an article again because the requirements are too hard to be accomplished.

AWM-SIAM Sonia Kovalevsky Lecturer

Thanks John B123 for warning of proposed deletion. I totally rewrote the opening paragraph and removed the proposed deletion tag. Mvitulli (talk) 00:02, 2 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Mvitulli}, I've restored the {{Copyvio-revdel}} tag. This doesn't imply that there are copyright problems with the current version, but is asking an admin to change the visibility of previous versions where there were copyvios. As soon as this is done the notice will be removed. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 08:36, 2 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Gerolamo Accoramboni

Hello John B123. Thanks for reviewing Gerolamo Accoramboni. But why I got Tag: content sourced to vanity press with the new page? Regards.--Parsedan (talk) 17:27, 2 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Parsedan It's there because you have included a reference (I Testamenti dei Cardinali: Giuseppe Accoramboni (1672-1747)) that is published by Lulu.com. Lulu publishes any book an author uploads to them so it's looked on as a self-published source. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 17:50, 2 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. --Parsedan (talk) 18:00, 2 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you and a request

Hey there. Thank you for reviewing my pages recently. Can I please request that these recently created pages: Alfred Bourgeois and Ricky Lee Sanderson go back to draft because they are clearly not ready for the main page. Thank you. Inexpiable (talk) 00:38, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I've done it don't worry. Inexpiable (talk) 09:07, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Inexpiable, glad you got it sorted. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 09:41, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Bob Wells notability

I noticed the Bob Wells notability tag you added. I'll be removing it because he does meet the Wikipedia guidelines for notable. He's been on various TV news programs. Sources are abundant. I'm more than willing to discuss this here or on my talk page. By my off the cuff estimate he gains about 50,000 followers every year. What's going on with the subject at hand maybe something I understand better than the individual himself or the editor who created the page. Think of it as a "he got there first" avenue of minimalism that people naturally gravitate to. Dana60Cummins (talk) 11:01, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Dana60Cummins: I assume this refers to Bob Wells (vandweller). Number of followers is not one of the notability guidelines as far as I'm aware. Notability needs to be demonstrated. From WP:BASIC: People are presumed notable if they have received significant coverage in multiple published secondary sources that are reliable, intellectually independent of each other, and independent of the subject.. Apart from the reference on the page to CBS, all the other references do not give significant coverage o Wells, hence tagging the article. I would remind you that maintenance tags should only be removed if the issues have been resolved or the reason for the removal is explained in the edit summary. --John B123 (talk) 11:22, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Please read the NYT article again. It's focus is the annual gathering that Wells created, and Wells himself is the thread of the entire article from start to finish. Not a trivial mention I would think. StonyBrook (talk) 12:02, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@StonyBrook: as you say, the article's focus is the annual gathering. Notability isn't inherited. A gathering may be notabile but that doesn't automatically make the creator notable. --John B123 (talk) 12:39, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Not exactly what I was getting at JohnB123 with the followers, just a heads up of what is happening. I haven't even been over any sources. I'm trying to paint a picture of what is happening while being respectful to the subject. This has the potential to sound insulting, to him, as he is essentially homeless. So if I sound cryptic that maybe why as we discuss this. You mentioned a source from CBS, he's been on every news broadcast besides FOX as I remember. Therefor I'm assuming if I gather interviews from PBS, CNN, NBC that it's therefore notable? Is that what you are recommending? I haven't added anything to the article as of now.Dana60Cummins (talk) 12:19, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not worried about there being anything in there that's insulting. The subject himself has provided all the information publicly in reliable sources. StonyBrook (talk) 12:28, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
StonyBrook I was referring to just the discussion (in future tense) between me and John. I'm not the best communicator. I apologize for that. The page is fine, you did better than I would have. Dana60Cummins (talk) 12:40, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Dana60Cummins: That's exactly what the notability tag says:[1] "..may not meet Wikipedia's notability guideline for biographies. Please help to demonstrate the notability of the topic by citing reliable secondary sources that are independent of the topic and provide significant coverage of it beyond a mere trivial mention." ie the subject may be notable but that notability is not demonstrated on the page. --John B123 (talk) 12:47, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Kneipp

Dear John, I wish you all the best for the new year! Maybe keep the quote from Sebastian Kneipp in mind:

"If you don't have time for your health today, you'll need a lot of time for your diseases later." (Sebastian Kneipp)

Enjoy the rest of the holidays! --F.Blaubiget (talk) 14:49, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi F.Blaubiget, thanks and my very best wishes to you for the coming year. Hopefully the world will get back to some sort of normality soon. I think that's a wonderful quote. Kind regards. --John B123 (talk) 15:11, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

What do you want me to verify there? All the data is cited after the obituary mentioned in the references. Thinknot (talk) 16:18, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Thinknot, generally biographies need more than one source to verify their notability. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 16:24, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
And his discovery of the FMO complex is not enough also? It was mentioned 2500+ times in Google Scholar. Thinknot (talk) 16:29, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Thinknot: And a lay reader of the article will know that how? Articles need to demonstrate the notability of the subject, you cannot assume the reader will have any idea of mentions on google scholar. Please see WP:BASIC. --John B123 (talk) 16:39, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
A lay reader may use the internal link. The article Brian Matthews (biochemist) does not demonstrate notability too? Thinknot (talk) 16:45, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Thinknot: The guidelines for notability are clear. I'm not prepared to enter into an argument over it, if you disagree with them then take it up on the relevant talk pages. The simple fact is that more than one source is required for biographies. --John B123 (talk) 16:52, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Answer a simple question: is notability of Brian Matthews (biochemist) proven? If it isn't why don't you attack it? There's a tremendous number of articles on scientists that “are notably influential in the world of ideas without their biographies being the subject of secondary sources” (WP:PROF). Criteria 1: The person's research has had a significant impact in their scholarly discipline, broadly construed, as demonstrated by independent reliable sources. The proof for this is signed by several well known scientists (Brian W. Matthews, Daniel C. Brune, Robert E. Blankenship, Raymond Cox and others). Thinknot (talk) 17:10, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Creating a new article

Draft:Agrarian struggle in Bihar I will expand it more. But a problem has occurred. Plz see bold font....I don't know how to normalise it.Also if you can review, it will be good.Heba Aisha (talk) 18:23, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Eilenberg-Maclane spectrum

Hi John B123,

I've got two questions

  1. Can you add the following topics: "Algebraic Topology", "Topology", and "Homological algebra"
  2. What changes to the article are needed to remove the banner up top

Thanks, Wundzer (talk) 23:35, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Wundzer, I've added the categories. As a minimum, each section needs a reference at the end of the section. It's perfectly acceptable to reuse existing references if they verify that section. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 23:49, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Great, thanks for the tip and adding those categories! I'll be sure to include that citation format during my wikipedia writing journey. Wundzer (talk) 04:32, 4 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Wundzer, good luck for the future. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 07:34, 4 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Amefurasshi

Hi John B123,

Sorry, but what is the reason for Amefurasshi deletion now?. The group have 2 years old now, multiple single releases, 1 full album, MVS and a lot of lives. This group have more notability than others which have wiki page.

Hi Vimoral2, as per the edit summary the article was deleted previously at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Amefurasshi. The new article didn't show any more notability - see WP:BAND. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 19:36, 7 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
