Eminent Historian CV Vaidya & Yogendra Mishra in their work History of Medieval India described how Al Masudi mentions the king of Kandhar being a Rajput in 953 AD, and that dynasty was in place more than 100 yrs before that, so clearly, this takes back the time line to 9th century.
