A tag has been placed on Aamer Manzoor requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G14 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a disambiguation page which either

  • disambiguates only one extant Wikipedia page and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic);
  • disambiguates zero extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title; or
  • is an orphaned redirect with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" that does not target a disambiguation page or page that has a disambiguation-like function.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. It needs to go. Both of the articles it once disambiguated have been deleted. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 13:22, 25 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request for undeletion of Stephen Akintayo for improvement

I have gone through the article Stephen Akintayo and after a deep review of the mentioned article, I have gathered that the article is worthy of being on the Wikipedia mainspace. Similarly, it was okay that you removed it as it was previously posted by a lax editor thereby making it shoddy and inapt to stay on Wikipedia.

I have gone to revamp and recreate the article and minimise it to fit into the Wikipedia guidelines and also provided reliable, published sources and inline citation to it. I will be glad to have this resolved in the soonest. Thank you. Mrniger (talk) 08:51, 28 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. The article has been deleted twice after deletion discussions, rightly so on review. If you are going to recreate it you will need multiple high-quality sources that discuss the subject in depth. What are your three best sources? --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 14:17, 1 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Can you hide all the edit summaries and this one edit completely made by the IP 176.72.46.205? Especially if one of the pages the IP edited is currently on the main page. Thanks. theinstantmatrix (talk) 15:12, 1 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Guideline and policy news

  • A request for comment is open that proposes a process for the community to revoke administrative permissions. This follows a 2019 RfC in favor of creating one such a policy.
  • A request for comment is in progress to remove F7 (invalid fair-use claim) subcriterion a, which covers immediate deletion of non-free media with invalid fair-use tags.
  • A request for comment seeks to grant page movers the delete-redirect userright, which allows moving a page over a single-revision redirect, regardless of that redirect's target. The full proposal is at Wikipedia:Page mover/delete-redirect.
  • A request for comment asks if sysops may place the General sanctions/Coronavirus disease 2019 editnotice template on pages in scope that do not have page-specific sanctions?
  • There is a discussion in progress concerning automatic protection of each day's featured article with Pending Changes protection.

Technical news

  • When blocking an IPv6 address with Twinkle, there is now a checkbox with the option to just block the /64 range. When doing so, you can still leave a block template on the initial, single IP address' talkpage.
  • When protecting a page with Twinkle, you can now add a note if doing so was in response to a request at WP:RfPP, and even link to the specific revision.
  • There have been a number of reported issues with Pending Changes. Most problems setting protection appear to have been resolved (phab:T273317) but other issues with autoaccepting edits persist (phab:T275322).

Edit Summary Scratch-out request

Hi. Could you scratch out the edit summaries of the following users from the Edit History of America's Got Talent (season 3), as you did with the last lot who vandalized the article? I figured their summaries are just as bad for the following reason on each:

  • Ong Tiong San - Summary references a political party of Singapore, not relevant to the article, and includes what looks like Political Propaganda in it
  • CHLOE SEAH YI XUAN & ANGEL TANG SHU TING - Used Chinese text, and the note of numbers before them like a time, makes me believe they are showing off a TV Schedule in their language
  • Tony Tan Keng Yam - Edit summaries have been done to link to Singaporean people that has no relevance to the article, and makes no sense to state within edit summaries.
  • Lim Li-Wei - Summaries seem to stipulate a program time for Singaporean television, and advocates a falsehood on a winner.
  • The fabulous 60-minute Price is Right! - No idea what they were doing with these, but it looks like absolute gibberish.
  • America's Got Talent is back! - Abosolute gibberish, or naming Singaporean people which makes no sense to talk about with a edit on the article.

Can you help out? GUtt01 (talk) 09:18, 5 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Also, can I say a big thank you to you for what you did to that article! After so many years of persistent disruption to it by socks vandalizing it in the same manner, it is truly a big relief to finally find someone realizing that the problem would continue to persist unless something dynamic was done to nip it in the bud once and for all! Let's hope that this will end the matter for good, and again a well deserved, monumental thank you. I'm sure other editors who have hated this will be relieved as much as me. ^w^ GUtt01 (talk) 17:48, 5 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@GUtt01: Yes, I took a bit of a deep dive. There has been considerable disruption and sockpuppetry for many, many years. This is just long-term abuse and there is no sign of it letting up. Enough is enough. On the scratching out, I’ve revision deleted a couple of the more obviously disruptive summaries but I’m inclined to just let the others fade away in the history. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 03:30, 7 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Further reversion

Special:Contributions/LolWWENarj prob. needs a block. And the page needs protection (hopefully you're faster than RFPP). Cheers, RandomCanadian (talk / contribs) 04:05, 8 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The 109.xx IP too needs the same treatment, I fear... And don't know if some of these edits need revdel RandomCanadian (talk / contribs) 04:06, 8 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Two blocks and page protection done. Didn’t see any others in need of an immediate block. I’ll have a look at the revdel issue. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 04:13, 8 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
This is what caught my eye; in case you wonder (it's grossly inappropriate). 8 minutes between a report at RfPP and protection must be close to a speed record, considering how often there's a post about a backlog there at AN... Cheers, RandomCanadian (talk / contribs) 04:16, 8 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, it’s the 109 IP doing that. I think I’ve caught it all but I’ll check again. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 04:24, 8 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Recent changes is overrated; edit filters are usually much more reliable :) Cheers, RandomCanadian (talk / contribs) 04:38, 8 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

RPP

Hi! I had filed this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Requests_for_page_protection#Sindhu_Joy Would you be able to address it? Thanks. Vikram Vincent 09:27, 9 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! Vikram Vincent 09:36, 9 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

An unrelated request (also at RFPP, about a page which you protected), don't know if you got the ping, here? Cheers, RandomCanadian (talk / contribs) 00:31, 11 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ey up, sorry, I missed this one. When I looked at the protection log, I saw three periods of protection in ten years - two months, six months, and most recently, one month, and long periods without protection. That didn’t scream out to me that this was a page that needs to be protected indefinitely but, you know, I’m open to reviewing the protection I placed. I’ll have a look. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 12:06, 12 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request for undeletion of Barry Aycock for improvement

Hi- hoping we can discuss the article here? I feel like several sources were not cited in the previous published article, and I'm more than happy to make some adjustments. Please let me know. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Zachhedrick (talkcontribs) 15:02, 19 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, the article was nominated for discussion by an editor; you can find the discussion at: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Barry Aycock. It was discussed for seven days and then I assessed the consensus of the discussion - all perfectly normal, this process happens hundreds of times every week.
The consensus was very clearly for deletion, that the subject does not meet inclusion criteria for an article in the encyclopaedia. The general notability criteria, which requires significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject, is cited and also the inclusion criteria for politicians.
If you are going to improve the article, you will need multiple high-quality sources that discuss the subject in depth - what are your three best sources? --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 11:48, 25 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks so much for your response. On the article in question, I included a variety of quality sources. Several were from from the largest news outlets within the designated region. On the biography at the front-end, In realize there was not a great deal of citations. I can remove that section for now, and include a citation to the profile when posted. I'm providing a link to the Ownership Biography section of the NBA's G-League Texas Legends. There is some additional information within this site, and I am more than willing to provide more if you'll consider reversing the deletion.

Thanks so much, take care!
