Thank you! I'm actually fairly familiar with WP (I joined following a WP:CLEANSTART); as such, fret not! Casspedia (talk) 16:18, 19 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I was wondering how a new editor ever found their way to Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Template:User African. Thanks for stating up front that you are a clean start account. It allays some of my suspicions. Liz Read! Talk! 02:43, 25 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Don't worry about it; it's normal to be suspicious of someone who already knows templating and other MediaWiki-specific and Wikipedia-specific stuff! In order to further alleviate suspicion, and for the sake of transparency, I'll put a notice on my userpage publicly stating that I joined following a clean start. Casspedia (talk) 14:10, 25 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't template me

'Please don't template me! Everybody makes mistakes, and I find user warning templates impersonal and disrespectful. If there's something you'd like to say, please take a moment to write a comment in your own words'. CatCafe (talk) 03:10, 10 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Alrighty, got it! Casspedia (talk) 10:32, 10 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Adhering to WP:CLEANSTART guidelines

So explain this 'clean start' of yours Casspedia. Were you banned? As I have discussed about your edit pattern previously - you clumsily took 3 attempts to put an editwar warning on my talk-page, when I was at that time in discussions re the rfc on the JY talkpage, as some sort of pre-emptive measure by you prior to you attempting to start an edit war. See I enquire about this because under WP:CLEANSTART you claim, you must "edit in new areas and avoid old disputes, and will follow community norms of behavior." CatCafe (talk) 20:19, 10 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

So... I am a trans woman (per the infobox on my userpage), and only began the process of transitioning earlier. Because of this, and since I did not want to be associated with a deadname, I chose to take the WP:CLEANSTART route. I did not do this clean start under a cloud; the last time I was involved in a page content dispute on WP was back in 2019. I was never blocked before (on Wikimedia Foundation websites)... yet at least. Before, I used to primarily edit on pages about completely different subjects, such as technology, and was much less focused on articles about LGBT people and trans* people. Additionally, I was much less focused on talk page discussions and using more intricate features of Wikipedia (such as user warning templates). Most of my editing experience comes from other wikis, such as Uncyclopedia, and wiki farms, such as Miraheze, which is why I'm very familiar with MediaWiki but less so with Uw templates. Hope this kind of clears things out a little; feel free to inquire more if you need to further alleviate any suspicions. Casspedia (talk) 21:51, 10 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Addendum: the "red" links used for my user page and user talk page are merely stylistic, and are in fact more "pink" than anything else. However, owing to the concerns you brought up, I have modified my signature to be more visibly not red. Casspedia (talk) 21:55, 10 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Well you have not followed "community norms of behavior" as is required by you - by you taking pre-emptive measures to advantage you prior to you attempting to start an edit war on the JY page. As such you are deserving of an edit war warning, as you are obliged to fully follow CLEANSTART guidelines and are not. Also you are clearly WP:POV pushing regards your reverts. q

Since you dual license your userspace contributions under BY-SA and BY-NC-SA, does that mean that I can use your work for commercial purposes or not? JJPublic (talk) 16:50, 27 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, but so long as you either tri-license the work as BY-SA 2.0 + BY-NC-SA 2.0 + GFDL (Wikipedia's license), dual-license as BY-SA 2.0 + GFDL, dual-license as BY-SA 2.0 + BY-NC-SA 2.0, dual-license as GFDL + BY-NC-SA 2.0, or license solely under either BY-SA 2.0 or GFDL. Pick one! The whole reason I added BY-SA 2.0 and BY-NC-SA 2.0 is to permit compatibility with more wikis, e.g. Uncyclopedia (BYNCSA 2.0). Technically you can also use my user space under GPLv3 since BY-SA 4.0 (upgraded from BY-SA 2.0) is one-way relicensable to GPLv3. Casspedia (talk) 19:51, 27 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Free Software Foundation, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page MQA. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Edit warring

I'm sorry you find templates upsetting. They are a good way of fully providing to new editors, such as yourself, a full explanation of Wikipedia policies and guidelines that they may not be aware of. Other editors may not have the time to write this out every time in a personal message, and may forget, or mistakenly misrepresent things.

I've commented on the talk page the need for everyone to stop edit warring about this while a discussion is taking place. Constant flipping back and forth to preferred versions while consensus hasn't been reached makes a nonsense of the process and hinders reaching it. Thanks. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 11:10, 2 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, got it. I do understand that; I've just been on WP for a long time (I think I've been on maybe a good few years before I went WP:CLEANSTART). I do agree that the edit warring on that page (on both support and oppose camps) has kind of blown up... I doubt anything but time will calm this down (talkpage squatting, of course), but hopefully one day consensus can be achieved and the article won't be such a flashpoint. Casspedia (talk) 11:12, 2 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I didn't notice you were a clean start. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 11:14, 2 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Don't worry about it. The notice is pretty deeply hidden within my myriad of userboxes. Casspedia (talk) 11:16, 2 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Political Polarization USA

Here are some links to back up that both parties have continued to the polarization and it is irresponsible to blame one party more then the other. Let me know if you have any questions. Thank you
