The Kabul Times (Dari کابل_تایمز[1], Pashto د کابل تایمز) is a state-run English language newspaper in Afghanistan, initially established on February 27, 1962. As of 2018 it has a daily circulation of 47,000 and is offered in both print and online formats. The newspaper is generally viewed as having a Pro-government political viewpoint.
Following the 1978 coup, the Kabul Times was renamed Kabul New Times, and began to print Communist rhetoric that was reminiscent of days during the Cold War and was highly confrontational towards Western culture.
The paper stopped publication during the US-led invasion, resuming in March 2002.[2]
Afghan Civil War.
During the Mujahedin (1979 - 1989) and Afghan Civil War the paper completely suspended, but sometimes resumed by whom controlled the Kabul city, to published his point view to the world. During the Taliban’s Regimes, the Kabul times suspended, but after some dark times they decided to resuming the Media to gain his goal through the media power, but it was publishing once a week. Us and Nato Coalition.
In October 7, 2001 The U.S. military, British and Other Nato Alliance support, begins a bombing campaign against Taliban Regimes. After retreated of Taliban Regimes in November 2001. The Kabul Times Newspaper resumed his publishing in 7 April 2002 officially under an Interim Government of Afghanistan, once a week. But the paper increasing his publishing year after year till to achieve his goal stability publishing day by day.
