Pathonpatham Noottandu (transl. Nineteenth Century) is an upcoming Malayalam-language historic drama film written and directed by Vinayan.[1] The movie revolves around the life of a fiery Ezhava chieftain, Arattupuzha Velayudha Panicker and also portrays the lifestyle of people of the 19th century in Kerala, India.[2] The film stars Siju Wilson, Anoop Menon, Kayadu Lohar, Chemban Vinod Jose, Indrans, Alencier Ley Lopez and many more.[3] The film is produced by Gokulam Gopalan under the banner of Sree Gokulam Movies.
Premise
This period piece film revolves around the life of Arattupuzha Velayudha Panicker, a 19th century fiery social reformer-cum-Ezhava chieftain and his unswerving fight against the dominant caste oppressions by the upper classes prevalent at that time.[4]

Music
M. Jayachandran is the music director of the film and Rafeeq Ahamed will be the lyricist.[21]
Production
The director Vinayan announced the movie in March 2020 by making casting call.[22] Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the shooting was delayed, beginning in January 2021 after the Puja held in Kochi.[23]
Shaji Kumar is the cinematographer of the film. Vivek Harshan will do the editing in the film. Pattanam Rasheed will do the make-up and the costumes will be arranged by Dhanya Bhalakrishnan. V.C Praveen, and Biju Gopalan are the co-producers of the movie and Badusha is the production controller.
