Referencing
This article needs referencing more significantly than simply the subject's website at the bottom. I've added a referencing tag. I've also deleted some material that cannot be confirmed such as the alleged performance in Othello with Joe Pasquale (I smell a rat! If this is the case, please only return with an appropriately reliable reference). The article needs someone to spend time on and tidy up the whole thing - also need to avoid sweeping statements such as 'it has been confirmed by endemol that she has been invited on celeb big brother' - its actually the case that this is rumoured. --manchesterstudent 22:53, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
- Done. I've tried to find as many references as possible. And her website is no longer working, for some reason. And I've totally removed Celeb Big Brother reference. It's only rumour; if she does appear I'll add that straight away. --Berks105 21:12, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
Identification
Didn't she get rather close to typecasting? I remember she was nearly synonymous with hi-de-hi and there were plenty of comments along:
- Q: What stands in the middle of the road going "Hi-de-hi"?
- A: Sue Bollard!
I did search the net but as this predates widespread web use I guess it is no surprise citations are hard to find. --14:15, 22 March 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.164.187.186 (talk)
- I don't really see this would be relevant anyway.--UpDown (talk) 08:01, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
Su as an insect
It's funny but I've removed the sentence "When filming one episode of Hi-de-Hi!, Peter Keogh proposed to her while she was dressed as an insect.[4] They married, but later divorced.[1]" per the interview with Su in Made Up ("Professional actress, singer, comedienne, writer, and Su Pollard, the woman herself is delightfully camp, renowned for her outrageous dress sense, and the owner of a Wikipedia entry full of priceless “facts” - including “when filming one episode of Hi-de-Hi, Peter Keogh proposed to her while she was dressed as an insect” and that in 1995 she released and album called Famous Su Raincoat: Pollard Sings The Hits Of Leonard Cohen (there appears to be no other evidence of this, but it’s funny either way"). In any case, one link doesn't exist and the other (the BBC one) doesn't support the claim. Ericoides (talk) 14:33, 17 June 2011 (UTC)
"Bournemouth incident"
This strikes me as having been given quite a bit of undue weight in the article - no mention of her marriage, but a whole paragraph about an alleged incident reported in a local newspaper. Anyway, I propose to remove it, as the newspaper article seems a bit rubbish anyway. Bob talk 22:46, 19 June 2011 (UTC)
edit I made
What was wrong with when I included 'her abrupt voice', when she genuinely did have a slightly abrupt voice? Ofcdeadbeat (talk) 16:46, 4 April 2017 (UTC)Ofcdeadbeat
It's your opinion. What exactly is an "abrupt" voice? 90.249.200.87 (talk) 17:31, 30 October 2021 (UTC)
