Question from Vitaium on Wikipedia:Edit requests (04:46, 13 November 2021)

Hello Berrely! How to make an edit request if a page is protected but the talk page is also protected? --Vitaium (talk) 04:46, 13 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Vitaium, you are currently extended confirmed, so you should never have this issue. However if you do, you would make the request at WP:RFPP/E and press "Request edit". — Berrely • TalkContribs 10:23, 13 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Tobieallen (10:24, 15 November 2021)

hi thank you - I have been asked to create for a client of mine a wikipedia page. Where is the best place to find correct process to do this. Thank you --Tobieallen (talk) 10:24, 15 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Tobieallen, it is strongly discouarged to create an article on a subject you have a confllict of interest with, but if you still want to, please read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#Paid editors and subsequently Help:Your first article. — Berrely • TalkContribs 17:53, 15 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Vitaium (10:25, 18 November 2021)

Hello Berrely! Where should i request a block for other reasons (other than vandalism, username policy violation, or sockpuppet)? --Vitaium (talk) 10:25, 18 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Vitatium, you can request administrator intervention additionally on an admin's talk page, or as a last resort, WP:AN and WP:ANI. For a list of active administrators, see this tool and select "administrators" or Wikipedia:List of administrators/Active. — Berrely • TalkContribs 10:28, 27 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Vitaium on Wikipedia:Content assessment (14:58, 21 November 2021)

Hello Berrely! What is an unassessed article? --Vitaium (talk) 14:58, 21 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Vitaium, an usaasessed article is an article that hasn't been given relevant content assessments such as WikiProjects, Stub-B class, etc. You can use a tool like WP:RATER to help with this. — Berrely • TalkContribs 10:33, 27 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Good day! Add text in this article, please, Xmac!--Станислав Савченко (talk) 18:34, 24 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Станислав Савченко, sorry, but I can only really expand or create articles in topics I have an interest and/or knowledge in, which I don't in this case. If you want you can do this yourself by reading Help:Introduction. — Berrely • TalkContribs 10:38, 27 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Vitaium (04:03, 30 November 2021)

Hello Berrely! Why open proxies and VPNs are blocked from editing in Wikipedia? --Vitaium (talk) 04:03, 30 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Vitaium, as you can see at WP:PROXY, open proxies and VPNs generally are used by sockpuppets and LTAs to bypass IP blocks and checkuser checks. If you have a valid reason do so, you can also request an IP block exemption to bypass these IP blocks. — Berrely • TalkContribs 07:11, 30 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Alexandria times

Hi, I'm not sure the source you added for Arundel's claim to be founder of the Alexandria Times is adequate? It's very primary (being a US trademark publication), and, at least in the form it opens in my browser, it merely shows me that someone of Arundel's name who lived in Alexandria applied for something; the reference as it currently appears doesn't actually show the Alexandria Times' trademark (though it must surely be there). Is there any way this can at least be formatted in such a way that it demonstrates to the reader that the fact is actually true? Also I think we should be very cautious about such heavily conflict-of-interest editing. When someone identifies themselves as the very person they are writing about, it's a bit problematic that they charge in and edit the article. Thank you for not reinstating the rather promotional material he wrote about himself; I would very much prefer to see that discussed at the talk-page than simply accepted. Thanks! Elemimele (talk) 20:37, 30 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Elemimele, apologies for the source being a bit weird. The relevant page is 459, you can ctrl f for "Alexandria Times". If you feel the source is unreliable due to its primary status, I'm happy for you to go ahead and remove it. As another editor already informed the user on COI disclosures, I thought that was sufficient. Of course, the content they added was just promo garbage and has no place in that article. — Berrely • TalkContribs 07:14, 1 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
thanks for the reply. I never know what to think about sources like that. Technically they're primary, but I can't see the US trademark system as unreliable. I'm inclined to leave it the way you put it - it's probably accurate and the best we can do. I was just a bit cheesed-off with the flurry of stuff going on yesterday, particularly as the CoI editing was very promotional. You left the article in a much better state. Question from Vitaium on Wikipedia:Categorization (10:28, 2 December 2021)

Hello Berrely! How to make a category becoming a subcategory by putting it in the parent category? --Vitaium (talk) 10:28, 2 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Vitaium, you simply add the parent category to the one you want to be a subcategory, just like how you would in an article. — Berrely • TalkContribs 13:40, 2 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Deepa254 (14:15, 3 December 2021)

Hello I am new to Wikipedia, and wish to create a page for one of the public figures. How should I go about it? Thank you! --Deepa254 (talk) 14:15, 3 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Vitaium (06:08, 7 December 2021)

Hello Berrely! Why newcomers cannot create articles and move pages although it is not protected? --Vitaium (talk) 06:08, 7 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Vitaium, for spam prevention reasons, creating of new articles is limited to autoconfirmed users (like you an I), which requires 10 edits and 30 days of tenure. — Berrely • TalkContribs 07:05, 7 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
