Administrators' newsletter – April 2021
News and updates for administrators from the past month (March 2021).
- Alexandria • Happyme22 • RexxS
- Following a request for comment, F7 (invalid fair-use claim) subcriterion a has been deprecated; it covered immediate deletion of non-free media with invalid fair-use tags.
- Following a request for comment, page movers were granted the
delete-redirect
userright, which allows moving a page over a single-revision redirect, regardless of that redirect's target.
- When you move a page that many editors have on their watchlist the history can be split and it might also not be possible to move it again for a while. This is because of a job queue problem. (T278350)
- Code to support some very old web browsers is being removed. This could cause issues in those browsers. (T277803)
- A community consultation on the Arbitration Committee discretionary sanctions procedure is open until April 25.

Orphaned non-free image File:Reagan (2022 film) poster.jpeg
Thanks for uploading File:Reagan (2022 film) poster.jpeg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:54, 3 April 2021 (UTC)

How to provide revert reason when using Huggle?
Hello! I noticed when you revert people with Huggle such as like this one you are able to put reason in it. Could you explain how to do so? Aside from clear vandalism, I want to use Huggle too to clear up WP:OR or WP:ADVERTISING issues. I have taken a look at keyboard shortcuts, and there are options like "main-revert-warn-0" or "main-revert-10". This might be what you are using to revert while also giving reason, but can you tell me what those means? Thanks a lot! SunDawn (talk) 16:54, 13 April 2021 (UTC)
- Hi SunDawn, thanks for asking! The diff you linked actually contained a prefilled summary, if you want to access reasons for other than vandalism, you just click the drop-down arrow next to the revert button, and in this case select advertising/promotion. For fully custom edit summary, I keybind a button on my keyboard (for me
D
) to the "custom revert reason keybind" (I can't remember the exact name but it's something like that) so I can use a custom edit summary when the prefilled ones don't do it. Hope this helped :) — Berrely • Talk∕Contribs 17:33, 13 April 2021 (UTC)

Apologies for rollback
Please forgive my use of rollback to remove CFD templates from the target categories of the merges listed at Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2021_April_18#Active_ships.
I commend you for your thoroughness in tagging pages to draw attention to the discussion. However, for future reference, it is not usually necessary to tag target categories for merges, unless the discussion might conclude that the merge should go the other way. – Fayenatic London 16:39, 29 April 2021 (UTC)
