I was asked to review this article on behalf of CRM by 28bytes; after a thorough review of available online sources (including newspapers and books during the time period of Hayes’ life) I have been unable to turn up anything beyond quotes from Hayes and a few passing mentions in regional newspapers. Delete. After quite a bit of searching, I've reached pretty much the same conclusion as the nominator. Wading through Newspapers.com, Google Books, etc. finds nothing that qualifies as the sort of significant coverage needed to establish notability. Mid-to-late-20th-century American history and politics is a field that tends to be well represented in these databases, so I'm fairly sure that this isn't a case where offline sources would make the difference. Although I'm certainly glad to reëvaluate if additional sourcing comes along, I think the Rev. Dr. Hayes is an example of a person who made a difference in the lives of those around him but who nonetheless hasn't attracted the coverage needed to satisfy our notability guidelines. Delete. This article makes no particular claim to notability (despite overcoming overwhelming odds against success) and I can find nothing about him, even in Proquest's historical newspapers.
