Template:User Newpages with Twinkle (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)

Its been deleted in the past due to the new user right, I expect they want it to still be deleted. All users should now apply for the New Page Reviewer right if they still want to patrol pages, as said by Yoshi24517. However, BU Rob13 has declined the CSD, making deletion become controversial. Userbox templates are discussed at MfD. 24.205.24.240 (talk) 16:46, 5 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Delete. Its been deleted before, now it should be deleted again. Yoshi24517Chat Online 03:51, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Keep for many reasons.
  1. @Yoshi24517: It was speedy deleted as per WP:G6, but this was not uncontroversial maintenance, so I've restored the previous revisions. The previous deletion was out-of-process.
  2. The new "new page reviewer" right does not prevent new page patrolling such as tagging, CSD noms, PRODs, etc. by new editors with Twinkle. Indeed, this was rejected strongly at the first RfC. It just prevents marking as patrolled by editors without the right.
  3. Even if it did restrict such new page patrolling, maybe "new page reviewers" wish to use a userbox indicating that they use Twinkle to do their patrolling.
  4. Even if that weren't the case, this userbox could be retained for historical purposes.
  5. The community has historically given a lot of leeway to userboxes unless they blatantly misrepresent policy or prove so divisive that they are a net negative.

Keep The new user right doesn't necessarily prevent anyone from patrolling new pages with twinkle. (even though I have the right I still use twinkle to do patrolling because I find the curation tool clunky) --Cameron11598 (Talk) 07:38, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Eh, you are right. Can somebody close this as speedy keep? Yoshi24517Chat Online 22:58, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
