Baron Dante is an evil frog-like wizard and the main villain of Croc: Legend of the Gobbos and Croc 2. He seeks to capture the Gobbos and kill Croc to conquer the Gobbos' island. He has small, devil-like henchmen named Dantinis, which aid him on his quest to rule the island as well.

Video game appearances

Croc: Legend of the Gobbos

In the original Croc game, Dante is first seen in the intro when he and his henchmen, the Dantinis, invade the Gobbos' island and captures them, including the Gobbo King. He is then seen in all of the introductions every boss fight in which he transforms innocent, little animals into fighting machines to prevent Croc from getting to his island. However, every single one of them has failed to do so, and Dante was forced to fight Croc himself, three times as a matter of fact. After his defeat in round three, the evil Dante screamed a death cry, spun around, and disappeared just like that, leaving Croc to rescue the Gobbo King.

Croc 2

In the introduction of Croc 2, we see a Gobbo scientist stumble onto a ritual held by the Dantinis that has somehow resurrected the evil Baron. Again he faces his nemesis, Croc, but again fails.

Theme music

The theme song of Baron Dante consists mainly of an organ and is heard in the intro when he invades Gobbo Island, when he fights Croc in round two, and when Croc fights a Crystal Boss that looks strangely identical to Dante.
