The Prison Cross for Gallantry was a Rhodesian gallantry award. It was awarded to Prison officers who showed conspicuous gallantry.
History
The medal was instituted in 1970 by Presidential Warrant. Although instituted, no awards were ever made.[4]
Description
The medal was a 38mm silver with green enamel Maltese Cross, that on the obverse side, had a green Zimbabwe bird in a silver circle with green border, the circle reading "For Conspicuous Gallantry". The words surrounded by a silver laurel wreath. The reverse side is plain and had the name of the recipient.[4]
