Places Lived

[edit]

I currently reside in the city of Salina, Kansas. I have lived here since July of 1988. Prior to moving to Salina, I lived in Alamogordo, New Mexico, which was my fathers final station at Holloman Air Force Base. Growing up a military brat, I have lived in several places, moving every 3 to 4 years. Before Alamogordo, I lived in the Philippines. We were stationed at Clark Air Force Base from 1983 to 1987. From 1979 to 1983 we were in Denver, Colorado at Lowry Air Force Base. From 1976 to 1979 at Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines for the first tour. Before that time, between the years 1973 to 1976 we were in Chicago and Panama (where I was born.)

There's No Place Like Home

[edit]

I'm not talking about Kansas, but I am talking about the Philippines. I consider Angeles City, Philippines my home town. I have many memories and experiences growing up there. I spent majority of my childhood in the P.I. I have learned alot about values of life and not take things for granted. Not many people I know now a days have even stepped foot out of the mid-west. I can say that I made it all the way to the far east! I am thankful that I have had the opportunity to live in another country. But I will have to admit, that it was a relief to step foot off of that air plane and be back in the U.S. But the Philippines will always have it's place in my heart!

Love to travel

Being an Air Force Brat gave me the opportunity to see the world! Among the places I have visted are:

Career Quest

[edit]

When I was growing up, I like every other kid, wanted to be a fire man. But that didn't happen for me. I found back in h/s that I am very mechanically inclined. But being around the military majority of my young life, I couldn't see any other way. So I joined the Air Force after h/s. That only lasted 6 months. I was 3 days from completing basic training when I was given a madical discharge.

After my discharge, I had to think about what to do now. So I went to Salina Technical School and enrolled in Drafting/AutoCAD classes. I remember having a knack for drafting back in h/s. I excelled in this trade and landed my first job in the engineering field at Coronado Engineering Inc. (now defunct). I was layed off after 4 years working there. I later obtained employment with Kasa Industrial Controls. And there too, I was layed off after 2 years service.

I decided to try my luck 20 miles east in the town of Abeline, Kansas at Abrasive Blast Inc., and after a year, LAY OFF! Talk about aggrivation.

I was recruited by Precision Machine and Welding in Salina, Kansas. I worked there for 3 years and moved on when an opportunity came about. I landed a local government job, which I am still employed with to this day.
