Priszm LP, a limited partnership based in Toronto, is a Canadian fast food restaurant operator. Priszm was formerly known as KIT LP (as in "KFC Income Trust") and is the successor to Priszm Brandz LP and Scott's Restaurants Inc. The Priszm Canadian Income Fund (TSX: QSR), an income trust, owns 60.2% of Priszm; the remainder is owned by John Bitove.
Priszm owns four Yum! Brands restaurant franchises chains in Canada, namely Kentucky Fried Chicken, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, and Long John Silver's (note that neither Yum! nor Priszm are affiliated with A&W Restaurants in Canada). The majority of its locations are KFC franchises, some of which are co-branded with other Yum! chains. Some media reports imply that Priszm is the master franchisee or "owner" of KFC or other Yum! chains in Canada. However, while Priszm owns the vast majority of Canadian KFC locations, the restaurants are independently-owned franchises and they deal with Yum! directly and not Priszm (see Yum!'s Canadian franchising website).
Bitove, who also controls the properties associated with many of these locations through Scott's Real Estate Investment Trust, is a director of the Fund and the current chairman of Priszm.
