Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 20:17, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/History of the first mobile phone feature film in world, a page you created has not been edited in at least 180 days. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace. If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it. You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements. If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13. Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 13:03, 10 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Sathish kalathil. It has been over six months since you last edited your article submission, entitled History of the first mobile phone feature film in world.

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the db-afc or db-g13 code. Please note, however, that Articles for Creation is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: , paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. HasteurBot (talk) 15:25, 9 September 2013 (UTC) [reply]

Request reason:

IP address has been used by other user Sathish kalathil (talk) 10:34, 12 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

This is not an IP block, this account is directly blocked with the reason "not here to build an encyclopedia; here to promote a film". That is what you will need to address if you want to be unblocked. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 11:56, 12 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I admit it and actually, in the unblock request above, when I wrote "I created the account Sathish kalathil to History of the first mobile phone feature film in world" I meant I created the account to un-edit the disruptive edits against the Wikipedia:Policies and guidelines, edited/created pages with a Wikipedia:Sock puppetry account. And, however, I object to the 'promotional editing' part since my purpose had nothing to do with promotional editing. I never have intended to edit specifically for promotional reasons and have only added opinion about what sources/people said about first mobile phone feature film. My wrong time, At the time of the account opening, I didn't know fully of Wikipedia:Policies and guidelines. So, I thought, the account name and article name should be same. So, I created the name. My name is not Sathish kalathil, it is Dani. But, my article was about Sathish kalathil and his film. So, automatically, wiki administrator/administrators were mistaken me with my user name. And, at the time, when I was submitting my articles in user page of sathish kalathil, every time i had got some error so, I thought make other user account to submit it. Now I understood why should blocked me by Rschen7754 with the Wiki massage, "not here to build an encyclopedia; here to promote a film" and I sincerely apologize to doing this. Now i want to come back Wikipedia and Please unblock me. Wikipedia page creating was one of my favorite things to do and you will never have to warn me or block me again; I will edit/create articles that enable Wikipedia and follow the Wikipedia:Policies and guidelines incredibly carefully and to my best ability. Again, I give my complete gratitude to your consideration Sathish kalathil (talk)

Decline reason:

You were previously offered this, so I'll extend the offer again. This unblock request has been declined due to your history of vandalism and/or disruption to this encyclopedia. However, we are willing to give you another chance provided that you can earn back the trust of the Wikipedia community. To be unblocked you need to demonstrate that you are willing and able to contribute positively to Wikipedia. You can do this by:

  • Familiarizing yourself with our basic rules.
  • Read our guide to improving articles
  • Pick any pre-existing article you wish to improve.
  • If you have trouble choosing an article to improve, see this index of articles needing improvement for ideas. Once you have decided on the article you will propose improvements to:
    1. Click the Edit tab at the top of that article;
    2. Copy the portion of the prose from that article that you will be proposing changes to. However:
      • do not copy the "infobox" from the start of the article (i.e., markup like this: ...);
      • do not copy any image placement code (i.e., markup like this: );
      • do not copy the page's categories from the bottom of the page (i.e., markup like this: );
      • do not copy the stub tag (if there) from the bottom of the page (i.e., markup like this: Foo stub);
    3. Click edit at your talk page, and paste at the bottom under a new section header (like this: == Article title ==) the copied content but do not save yet;
    4. Place your cursor in the edit summary box and paste there an edit summary in the following form which specifies the name of the article you copied from and links to it (this is required for mandatory copyright attribution): "Copied content from exact Name of Article; see that article's history for attribution."
    5. You can now save the page. However, if your edits will include citations to reliable sources (which they should), place at the end of the prose you copied this template reflist-talk and then save.
  • Now, edit that content. Propose significant and well researched improvements by editing the selected portion of the article. Please note that we are not looking for basic typo corrections, or small unreferenced additions; your edits should be substantial, and reflect relevant policies.
  • When you are done with your work, re-request unblocking and an administrator will review your proposed edits.
    • If we (including the original blocking admin) are convinced that your proposed edits will improve Wikipedia as an encyclopedia, you will be unblocked.

If you need help while working with your proposed edits, you may add "your question here ~~~~" to your talk page. Thank you. Yamla (talk) 10:29, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, User Yamla, I receive your great advice and guidelines according with your Decline reason to my previous unblock Request. But, I have Yet not created even an article here. Then how can I edit/improve/resubmit article? After unblock my account, I have very much confident to create good articles here. So, please help me unblock first. And, I want to rename my account (User name) from Sathish kalathil to other. Because, now I know one of the my blocking reasons are included this one also. So, what can I do for it? Can I submit unblock appeal with User account rename? Sathish kalathil (talk) 11:15, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

We give you detailed instructions, above, on how to prove you should be unblocked. You should copy a section of an article here, into your user talk page. Then edit it and meaningfully improve it. You may be confident that you can create good articles here, but we are not. You have to convince us, by following the instructions above. This, and only this, is how you convince us to unblock you. --Yamla (talk) 11:42, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, User Yamla I am submitting here an Example/Model about which I want to create an article here. Sathish kalathil (talk) 12:50, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
You've already been told this article is inappropriate. Additionally, you are not following the instructions given above. Please reread the instructions. If your only intention is to create this article, there's no point continuing. --Yamla (talk) 12:53, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Your edits, which I reverted, consisted of a copyright violation from [1]. Additionally, you've been told over and over again, the article, "History of the first mobile phone feature film in world", is inappropriate here. It is clear that your only intention here is to write about that subject. As such, I have revoked your talk page access. --Yamla (talk) 16:04, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
