The result was speedy keep. Searching using the Chinese name shows notability much better. Stifle (talk) 13:52, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Contested PROD; any coverage she has received seems to be incidental or tangential, and doesn't meet WP:MUSICBIO. Stifle (talk) 08:30, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

- Keep Evidently notable. Colonel Warden (talk) 09:50, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- If she is "very famous" then it should not be hard to find substantial independent coverage. So far this has not been done. Likewise if she is "evidently" notable then why has no evidence been given? Simply to state that she is "famous" or "notable" does not establish that she is, in the absence of citations. - The article contains several citations and this discussion contains links to searches which show that there are lots more sources out there. The blindness of yourself and the nominator is puzzling so if you think that more is needed, please explain. Colonel Warden (talk) 11:47, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- "If she is 'very famous' then it should not be hard to find substantial independent coverage. " It is an opinion held by many Wikipedians who lack a worldwide view. Maybe you think Michael Jackson is extremely famous. But it is not the case all over the world. At least I haven't heard much of him before his death. Alonso McLaren (talk) 12:14, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- OT: really? He's sold over 111 million albums, gotten numerous awards, popularized the moonwalk, been accused of two sexual abuses, and is in the Rock and Roll hall of fame two (2) times. Though I'd suspect that other parts of the world listen to different music. As for this topic, my vote is below. TheWeakWilled 13:30, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Speedy keep Described in [1] Malaysia Times as "China's top pop singer" in four years before 1990. Hong Kong put the picture on a postage stamp (!!!!) [2] for God's sake. This is from a routine Google news search, doesn't take much to find it. Mandsford (talk) 12:23, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Mandsford's evidence seems to conclude the matter; it's very hard to argue with that. A candidate for snow keep, perhaps?—S Marshall Talk/Cont 12:35, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Speedy keep per above. TheWeakWilled 13:30, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
