Farzi

5x expanded by Krimuk2.0 (talk). Self-nominated at 07:51, 10 February 2023 (UTC). Post-promotion hook changes for this nom will be logged at Template talk:Did you know nominations/Farzi; consider watching this nomination, if it is successful, until the hook appears on the Main Page.

Length, history and reference accepted. Good to go ... but for copyvio detector finding great similarity with this page. It looks to me like our article came first, but I'd like to clear that up. — Daniel Case (talk) 06:29, 1 March 2023 (UTC)

Hook is good with reference and all, but the issue remains with copyvio with the article and the gamingwap.com website. After that is resolved, I feel with that this article is good to go for DYK. Toadboy123 (talk) 21:50, 9 March 2023 (UTC)

Sorry but gamingwap.com are the ones who blatantly plagiarised what I wrote first on Wiki. Krimuk2.0 (talk) 06:19, 15 March 2023 (UTC)
Pinging Daniel Case and Toadboy123, in case they hadn't seen the above response. BlueMoonset (talk) 16:18, 17 March 2023 (UTC)
Considering the above response and the fact that the website plagiarized from Wikipedia article, I would say the article would be good to go for DYK. Toadboy123 (talk) 21:58, 17 March 2023 (UTC)
It does seem that our article's text precedes by a month the earliest archived version of the gamingwap page (about March 1 on the Wayback Machine). So, on good faith, I'll say we can go ahead. Daniel Case (talk) 05:06, 20 March 2023 (UTC)
  • @Krimuk2.0: I like the article, however the hook isn't particularly interesting. It's not that uncommon a film idea/project turns into a series nowadays. Can you suggest some alt hook? BorgQueen (talk) 00:51, 24 March 2023 (UTC)
@Krimuk2.0 and Toadboy123: Please propose a new hook per the comment above. Cielquiparle (talk) 03:52, 24 March 2023 (UTC)
Not common at all in India, but I'm open to suggestions regarding a different hook. Krimuk2.0 (talk) 06:31, 24 March 2023 (UTC)
Here is one:
  • ALT1: ... that Farzi tells the story of a counterfeiting ring, as well as the fakeness of people?
  • ALT1a: ... that the 2023 series Farzi tells the story of a counterfeiting ring, as well as the fakeness of people?
@Krimuk2.0 and Toadboy123: Thoughts? Cielquiparle (talk) 11:53, 24 March 2023 (UTC)
I'm cool with it. :) Krimuk2.0 (talk) 12:01, 24 March 2023 (UTC)
@Toadboy123: Could you please look at ALT1 and ALT1a above, and give this nomination another green tick if you approve? (The source for the hook is cited within the article in the "Premise" section.) Cielquiparle (talk) 12:26, 24 March 2023 (UTC)
Just a minor clarification before I can give clearance. Regarding the 'fakeness of people', is it regarding their personality? I just feel that the wording of the sentence is bit too vague in meaning when it comes to DYK. Toadboy123 (talk) 01:08, 24 March 2023 (UTC)
@Toadboy123: Actually I disagree – the hook always has to leave the reader with a question that makes them want to find out more. So, as you said: Is it about the fakeness of people's personalities? What is Farzi? And so on. If you overexplain in the hook, there isn't really a reason to click to find out more. Anyway the cited source says: The word ‘farzi’ literally means fake and Raj says that beyond the obvious association of the word with counterfeiting, the show looks at the inherent fakeness within people. I changed the wording in the article somewhat to say "fakeness inherent in people"; it's just unfortunate that it's technically an indirect quote of Raj, so I'm trying to avoid using scare quotes so it doesn't look like we're saying those were his exact words. Anyway if you have any other thoughts or suggestions, that would be great. Thanks. Cielquiparle (talk) 21:40, 24 March 2023 (UTC)
@Cielquiparle: I get it now. Well, I say that the hook is all clear for DYK. Toadboy123 (talk) 21:49, 24 March 2023 (UTC)
