abillion is a mobile application helping users to find vegan and sustainable products [1].

The platforms allow users to review any plant-based product, while donating for each review written between 0.10 and $1 to nonprofit organisations. As of July 2022, the company claims to have donated over $2M to various nonprofit organisations (farm animal sanctuaries, environmental regeneration)[2]. Their list of donations recipients include, among others, Sea Shepherd and Mercy for Animals[3].

The main objective of the company is to reach the number of one billion persons following a vegan diet and lifestyle by 2030 [4]. As of January 2023, the app is available in 180 countries.

In 2022, it has been awarded second most innovative consumer review platform by the media DarkRound [5].

abillion is also the official sponsor of the 2023 edition of the Vegan Women Summit, organized in New York City [6].

History

The American entrepreneur Vikas Garg founded the company in Singapore and the app has been officially launched in May 2018.[1]

The start-up was first named abillionveg and changed its name in 2020 to shorten it to abillion.[7]

In 2019, the company raised $2M in its first round of funding. [8] In 2021, it raised $10M in its Series A funding. [9]
