Awards and Legacy

I note that Irwin Allen was awarded the "Golden Raspberry" lifetime achievement award in 1985. And this was before he died. Indeed, a remarkable insult which is surprising even by Hollywood's standards. The fact is that Irwin Allen was one of our great Science Fiction and "Disaster film" pioneers, perhaps best known for his TV shows "Lost in Space", "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea", and the movie "The Poseidon Adventure". All of these efforts are interesting and very notable works in their own right. Civilization needs needs people and ideas to push us onwards, and moreover, to inspire us. (John G. Can I make Irwin Allen disaster movie productions?

Lost inSpace
