Lend me a minute of your time?

Hello Karnataka 🙂, we recently crossed paths when I accidentally moved my new article namely Doc Shebeleza (South African musician) to the live space, I have a good understanding of the notability policy and I try my best to be unbiased in writing articles. I have since changed and added valuable content to the article.

I'm trying to create a creative streak In my editing skills by moving my articles directly to the mainspace as I'm trying to build my reputation as the guy who don't really need AfC.

But I always do value the input from other editors and would appreciate if you could check out the tone of writing now at Doc Shebeleza (South African musician).

Cheers! Frankymulls (talk) 10:20, 30 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Frankymulls I would still recommend you to go through AfC as you are effectively asking me to do what an AfC reviewer would have done. I've cut down the article, however you are welcome to readd parts if they are important. Thanks! Karnataka talk 11:26, 30 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I've also marked your article as reviewed, but more work can definitely be put into it but its at a good standard to be in mainspace. Karnataka talk 11:31, 30 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
User:Karnataka My sincere apologies, you're absolutely correct and for my next article contributions I will be sure to submit it via the AfC. I will do major improvements to the article soon by adding more valuable information including controversies I discovered online.. Since I haven't went through AfC for the first article would you be kind enough to copyedit or Review it so I can have a clean slate for my next contributions as i will be sibmitting my next via AfC next, Thank you so much you can find that contribution here B Major (South African musician) only if you're not too busy for a quick review ... I'm currently busy making improvements doing more research on both topics.
I try to write only about significant achievements such as awards, reviewed books etc and by keeping the same style of writing.
Cheers! Frankymulls (talk) 11:51, 30 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Also your copyedit is valuable. If you dont see something fit to be on the page than it shouldn't be there. If another editor thinks differently than they can add the information later. No need for me to revert or add anything that's not vandalism. Frankymulls (talk) 11:56, 30 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
User:Karnataka It would however be highly appreciated if you could potentially review the article B Major (South African musician). As I haven't gone through the AfC for that one either my sincere applogies, but I'm promising that all future articles I'm about to send via AfC, and would love a clean slate of created articles so I can add them to my user page as article I created, Kind regards!
Cheers. Frankymulls (talk) 13:34, 30 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Frankymulls I'm not exactly sure but this may slimly meetWikipedia:NSINGER guidelines, unless you can prove that 021 awards/CTAA is a major award. The source (4) for the CTAA seems like a social media blog. Source 3 is user-generated, so it won't demonstrate notability due to unreliability. Source 5 seems to redirect to some scam/spam website, and is unaccessible. Source 1 and 6 is okay, and does give significant coverage.
Tone is good and doesn't seem promotional, so I would say this is borderline unless you can prove any of the bullet points. I'll mark it as reviewed. Karnataka talk 20:31, 30 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Maypinkflower (15:35, 30 August 2023)

Is it better to translate a page on pc or Ipad? Since I'm always outside I always have my ipad with me and I can't always access a computer. --Maypinkflower (talk) 15:35, 30 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Maypinkflower You can translate on both, I find desktop easier but it's really just your preference. Karnataka talk 20:33, 30 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you a lot! So desktop it is! Maypinkflower (talk) 22:57, 30 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I've pushed back your DYK hook

Hey there! I'm sorry that I didn't do this before it appeared on the Main Page, but I pushed back your hook to make room for a hook that had a special occasion request. It'll still appear in a couple days :) theleekycauldron (talk • she/her) 01:21, 1 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Question from KPundit (18:53, 3 September 2023)

I am trying to see how I can create a page on Wikipedia. The instructions appear rather intimidating. --KPundit (talk) 18:53, 3 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@KPundit Before starting please take note of whether your topic is suitable, or notable for inclusion. This is evaluated through the amount of sources (reliable news, journals, etc), and the sources must meet all the criteria listed in wp:GNG.
If you have a WP:Conflict of interest, please make sure you say so beforehand. Also, ensure that your article is of a WP:Neutral point of view. See H:YFA for more information.
If you think you can follow what I've mentioned here, you're welcome to create an article. New users are recommended to create their article through the Article Wizard and submit it, so issues can be clarified much more easily. Karnataka talk 19:48, 3 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Dakou

On 5 September 2023, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Dakou, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that raw material waste from the West influenced a generation of rock music in China? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Dakou. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Dakou), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
