  • Comment: Coat of arms of Bengal Presidency: It's only been just longer than a day (28 hours) since the request was made, by the time I'm seeing it here. The only precedent that exists for this title, is the linked redirect being unilaterally created by a "sockpuppeteer" who abusively used multiple accounts in 2020, which I would not consider to be a reliable basis. The redirect is actually necessary for the coat of arms of the Bengal Presidency (File:Badge of British Bengal.svg) in Bengal Presidency article to have a linked redirect to the present-day Emblem of West Bengal, so that users can see the relation between the previous and present-day symbols (emblems). The same way in which the coat of arms of Bombay Presidency (File:Indian Embassy in London wall plaque (5).jpg) is linked to the present day Emblem of Maharashtra. Please approve the redirect.

@Rourib.2004: Why is a piped link not sufficient? [[Emblem of West Bengal|Coat of arms of Bengal Presidency]] should produce what you're looking for (though, I have my doubts it'd be helpful anyway, due to the lack of content at the target... links are supposed to provide further reading on a topic, not for comparisons).
As for the redirect, I don't know what the intended scope of the target is. There is currently no content on the coat of arms of the 1935-1947 Bengal Presidency at the suggested target, outside of one image; it very well may fall under WP:R#D10 as such, though I'm not sure how good the possibilities of a separate article are. In the article Bengal Presidency, I need to show only the words coat of arms in the infobox, which will redirect to the Emblem of West Bengal, showing it's alternate name as Coat of arms of Bengal Presidency, just like Coat of arms of Bombay Presidency functions in Bombay Presidency. Moreover, the Emblem of West Bengal does not lack useful content. The logo will be restored in a few days. Please approve this small redirect. Rourib Dutta (talk) 18:38, 8 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
