The value of alpha

The parameter $\alpha$ is introduced in the formulas and it is stated that it equals 3/2 for a massive Bose gas in a box. However, there is no hint, what this quantity is precisely and what other values it can take etc. --EbbeSand (talk) 14:20, 7 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, there is a hint. Immediately following the introduction of alpha there is a link to the gas in a box article. The derivation of the value 3/2 is given in this article. It is not a simple thing, but it is not hidden or ignored either. PAR (talk) 16:03, 7 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
