Overpronation as a factor
[edit][1] says that overpronation was once suspected as a factor in ITBFS but that this has been debunked. I noticed here in the article it is still listed as a risk-factor.

needs
[edit]needs picture of insertion point on tibia. Tkjazzer 22:55, 23 May 2007 (UTC) I agree, the picture is bad and does not show any insertion point on the tibia. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.210.15.9 (talk) 03:58, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
need to include in this article
[edit]"rom its attachment to the iliac crest it passes down over the Glutæus medius to the upper border of the Glutæus maximus, where it splits into two layers, one passing superficial to and the other beneath this muscle; at the lower border of the muscle the two layers reunite.
Laterally, the fascia lata receives the greater part of the tendon of insertion of the Glutæus maximus, and becomes proportionately thickened.
The portion of the fascia lata attached to the front part of the iliac crest, and corresponding to the origin of the Tensor fasciæ latæ, extends down the lateral side of the thigh as two layers, one superficial to and the other beneath this muscle; at the lower end of the muscle these two layers unite and form a strong band, having first received the insertion of the muscle.
This band is continued downward, under the name of the iliotibial band (tractus iliotibialis) and is attached to the lateral condyle of the tibia."
a section from the fascia lata article that needs to be incorporated in to this article but needs rewording. Tkjazzer 22:58, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
Definition needed
[edit]What is the iliotibial tract? Is it a muscle, tendon, bone, joint, ...? Could someone add this information? Thanks! Grover cleveland 21:50, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

Symptoms of ITBS
[edit]I'd suggest someone who know what they're doing (i.e., not me) put some of the symptoms of ITBS on here, or at least a link to them. We are not given any real definition of what ITBS is, other than that runners and people with compromised gaits seem to get it. Does the IT band tighten? Does this impede leg movement? What's the pain associated? Even though there is a separate article for this, I think a few words ("Iliotibial Band Syndrome, a tightening of the IT Band, occurs in___" for example). 139.147.104.90 (talk) 20:30, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
