I believe that this article should be merged with the one on Port Chicago. This article makes it sound as though the two towns were separate, but if you refer to the Port Chicago article a referenced statement declares:

"In 1931, as the Great Depression worsened, Walter Van Winkle, a business leader, proposed and succeeded in getting the name of the town changed from Bay Point to Port Chicago."

I am not sure how this merge is done, whether it is something I can do myself or if an editor higher on the food chain needs to do it. Obviously the "hat-note" in the Bay Point, California article should remain as-is, but should be redirected to the Port Chicago article with the appropriate re-direct statement.
