"works are so counted"

[edit]

This sentence is rather confusing: "Given that the actual instances of the word usage in written works are so counted, most statements about the usage or the meaning of the word are bound to remain speculative."

What does that mean? Are these works very limited in number? Is the term rarely used? If so, I would tend to agree with the messagebox that it should be merged or deleted. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 143.239.96.226 (talk) 10:39, 3 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Pantomath versus Philomath

[edit]

Both of these seem to mean roughly the same thing. Perhaps consider merging — Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.24.21.137 (talk) 21:32, 6 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
