Weights

[edit]

There is clearly a problem here as Simons' values are much heavier. He's usually a reliable source but the two Polish sources essentially agree with each other and I might have dropped Simons. However, his values for the PWS 101 and the very similar PWS 102 are close, whereas the Polish sources give values far apart. I'd hoped that water ballast might get rid of the difference but 40 kg is not enough. My reading of Simons' weights is that the "Structure" figure includes the ballast otherwise his pilot weighs less than 44 kg! Even allowing for ballast, the Polish/Simons weight are still a significantly apart. Any thoughts? TSRL (talk) 21:36, 16 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The two polish sources (Glass and Cynk) are translated copies of each other so are bound to agree.--Petebutt (talk) 12:53, 20 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

1938 Paris Salon

[edit]

You might guess that the PWS-101 on display was the record-setting aircraft but I couldn't nail it. Any reliable refs?TSRL (talk) 23:02, 16 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
