Former countries

Why are certain successor states given credit and others not? The most glaring is Czech Republic is noted as a prior champion, while Slovakia is not. However, same issue exists for Yugoslavia and the USSR. GreatCaesarsGhost 14:30, 7 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
GreatCaesarsGhost I'm not sure about your question? Slovakia is not a former country, so it's listed in the regular/first section in Ranking of teams by number of appearances and Overall team records, and not in the former countries section. Czechoslovakia's results are included in the Czech Republic and USSR's results are included in Russia, same goes for West Germany and Germany. This is how Fifa regulated it. Overall team records

Some of the information in the table is not true, because the points are calculated by 3 for each win, which is incorrect. Since when we have 3 points for win, Euro 1996? For example, Germany has total 83 points and not 94 and this is valid for all the rest nations. The source of this information on the site https://www.worldfootball.net/alltime_table/em/ is wrong and confusing the readers. Stolz (talk) 12:33, 21 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
