I think there is enough evidence from various sources to at least mention the possibility that Funky Flashman (nice guy or NOT) is based on Stan Lee. Jack Kirby left Marvel on not so friendly terms and much has been written about how he (and his wife Roz) felt toward Stan. If you have read Ronin Ro's Tales To Astonish biography of Kirby, you will realize that it's not just fans, but Kirby and Lee's colleagues also saw something suspiciously familiar about Funky Flashman. It's enough to say that the outward appearance and speech pattern of the character is noticeably similar without having to go into the controversy of WHY he did it. You make good points. But it does not matter. Stan Lee is a -real- person. This involves a different set of Wikipedia rules. You just cannot say Stan Lee resembles Flashman that way without loads and loads of info to back you up. And probably not even then. Lots42 (talk) 21:53, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Mark Evanier, in the afterward of the "Jack Kirby's Fourth World Omnibus" volume 2, repeats this claim. —Preceding unsigned comment added by ThaddeusMcMonster (talkcontribs) 00:44, 27 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
