[edit]Is it forbidden to put the biography of my own group on this site? I don't think so! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Christo jones (talk • contribs)

Machiavel is an important rock group on the local Belgian level. It has had a lot of success in the 1970s and is listed in other pages of wikipedia. I found useful to include a short factual biography and discography. I am, of have been, a fan of Machiavel but the article, as I wrote it, neither attempts to promote the group commercially nor praises them unreasonably. There is also nothing in the article that is controversial in any way.
Rock is one valuable segment of music and culture in general. Providing contextual information about rock bands and their relation to others is in no way outside the scope or against the principles of the Wikipedia.
I therefore kindly urge the Administrator to reconsider the speedy deletion of this article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jean-louis.migeot (talk • contribs)
- I'm sure you could get it kept, but I think you need to expand the article and provide validation of the groups' notability. The problem is that many bands and groups get added to Wiki - my guess is several hundred a day, and most are a few kids playing drums in the basement. There has to be a way to see from the article that the band is significant, by providing links/lists of published alboms, awards, reviews, fan sites, etc. --ArmadilloFromHell 16:55, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
