Desmond Dekker - King of Ska track - who are the backing vocal group?
[edit]The Desmond Dekker article states that The Cherrypies were The Maytals and they are the featured backing vocalists on "King Of Ska". So either this article is right and its The Aces or the Dekker article is right and this needs to be changed.

Basically by 1967 only two members of The Aces remained with Dekker. The earlier line-up must have appeared on the hits between 1965 and 1967. So its a case of sorting out the recording and release dates of each record to find out who did what. I'll give it a go using the main Dekker article though if anyone knows for sure then feel free to edit this article. YouTube has early TV footage as well as photos. Also listening to the recordings will help since 3 or 4 backing vocalists will create a thicker fuller sound than 2 backing vocalists. Israelites only has two backing vocalist (YouTube has early live footage showing Dekker singing Israelites with only two vocalist) - bass and tenor (with Dekker's lead vocals I think in the alto range). Don't quote me on that!
BTW the King of Ska track was The Maytals (as his Cherrypies) - release date was before Kong auditioned The Aces.
