Joe's Biography

[edit]

Joe was actually educated in England. He always spoke of England in a friendly manner. He also often made the point of informing the audience that he was present in England for the Queens Silver Jubilee, (something Joe seemed very proud of). He was towards the end of his life working on an Autobiography that his Mail Bag listeners were always telling him to write. Joe was not a Communist and never joined that Party in Russia, 'To be a communist you have to state that you do not believe in God', said Joe. Joe's wife was in the siege of Stalingrad and vividly recalled the hardships she endured there one time when Joe interviewed her. Joe never once spoke with animosity about the American people. He spoke highly of Americans as hard working patriotic people. Joe often had to respond to belligerent letter from listeners in the U.S. threatening to bomb the U.S.S.R. "who is threatening who?", Joe responded to one such letter; "you surround our country with missile bases, sail ships off our shores with missile on aimed at us, and you complain when we build rockets to defend ourselves". Joe was in fact Jewish, but was pretty restrained in his treatment of 'Jewish Jokes' (never referring to any) before the end of the U.S.S.R. But after the end of Communism Joe often told some pretty (you can only call offensive) Jewish Jokes on his programme, (some so bad the Station Producer often cut him off). Never a bitter man, Joe at times lamented his poor salary in Post U.S.S.R. Russia. "The T.V. Newsreader for a T.V. Station here in Moscow gets paid a thousand times more than I do" he once lamented. Joe also lamented the Health Care for the elderly like himself in Post U.S.S.R. Russia. Talking of a stay in a Hospital he said; "what was it like in the Hospital"? "well there was piss all over the the floor and the food disgusting, that was if you got any food". Asked where he lived in Moscow Joe said; "I live with my dear wife in a modest apartment here in Moscow. What do I do all day? Well I research material for my show and I listen to the Radio. Mostly the B.B.C.". Johnwrd (talk) 02:37, 27 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You're presenting a great deal of original research where Wikipedia protocols call for discussion on how the improve the article. Talk pages are not intended for presenting impressions and lore on the article's subject. JohndanR (talk) 02:37, 29 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
